Batman The Sires, By Bob Kane

I looooove this book. It was and original to the people who really like comic books, like myself. Batman is so cool. With all his gadgets and little tinkering devices. He has the skill of a regular superhero and is not a mutant or alien or experiment gone wrong.

He just went away for a few years and then came back this crime fighting awesome guy. One time he was fighting Joker, and he punched him in the stomach and The Boy Wonder/ Robin punched him in the legs and Joker went flying.

Robin is also really awesome because he always gets caught and he never ever dies. Then he remembers he has a homing devices, and boom batman is there. Batman is like a symbol to people like James Jordan the police commissioner.

“He’s the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.” -Jim Gordon in Batman

Well I give this book ten out of five stars because Batman is so awesome and he deserves better than regular comic. He is a awesome billionaire during the day, and he becomes an awesome crime fighters at night.

Here are a few more quotes from Batman. P.S, they are epic!

“It’s not underneath, but what we do that defines us.” Rachel Dawes in Batman

“Either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Harvey Dent in Batman

Diary Of Wimpy Kid: RODRICK RULES

Greg has an older brother and his brother has party’s he also has a van and gets in trouble a lot. Greg’s dad gets mad at Rodrick a lot and he has a friend that just hangs around all day. This book people can read very fast so if you are trying to get things done than you should read this book.

“When dad saw all those teenagers in the driveway, he TOTALLY freaked out,” that is one of my favorite parts of the book (I will not say why I do not want to be a Spoiler). This is the second book but you can read them in any order. It is not as bad as the other books (to me I do not like the other books).

I would give this book 4 *** Stars because it could have delivered the same diary entries in a longer more descriptive way. This book is good for people that like to zoom through book’s.

NO FLYING IN THE HOUSE! BY BETTY BROCK

NO FLYING IN THE HOUSE

BY BETTY BROCK

I recently read a really exciting book called NO FLYING IN THE HOUSE.

This book is by Betty Brock. The main characters in my book are Annabell Tippens,( who is secretly a fairy,) Gloria, (Who is a small white dog who talks, knows 367 tricks, and is Annabell’s caretaker,) and Mrs Vancourt. Annabell’s main problem is a supposed golden cat with emerald eyes. This cat is really a wicked fairy named Belinda. Belinda is Gloria’s enemy. Belinda tells annabell that she is a fairy. Other information from Belinda is how Annabell can fly, what her parents did that angered the kings of the fairies, ( who is Annabell’s grandfather by the way,) and who her mother that Annabell never knew was.

The plot is very twisty and turny. At one point, Gloria transformed  herself into a golden dog with diamond eyes. What Belinda was trying to do was that if she made Annabell want to stay a fairy forever, then Annabell’s parents would be stuck on the island of Exile forever! But, Annabell chose to stay a mortal after she knew how to fly, because she wanted her parents. Here is a quote from Annabell when she learned about her parents. “ And if I don’t go with you, if I stay here and become a mortal forever and ever, will my parents be free?” A quote from the cover is “ what  if you found out that you were a fairy?” That is because Annabell is half fairy. Her mother is a fairy, and her father is a mortal.

I really enjoyed this book because it was one thing after another and all was exciting. I would recommend this book to those who like fantasy and comedy, and surprises throughout the book, because there is plenty to be found in my book. I would rate this 100 out of 5 stars, but I can only do five, so I guess that will do.   imgres

Bartimaeus the Golems Eye

Bartimaeus the Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud

Warning! Do not read this review unless you have read Bartimaeus the Amulet of Samarkand!

Bartimaeus the Golem’s Eye is by Jonathan Stroud. The main characters are Nathaniel (also called John Mandrake), Kitty Jones, and Bartimaeus the djinni. Nathaniel is very powerful and a bit arrogant. Kitty Jones is very rebellious and joined the resistance, an organization made to rebel against the magicians. Bartimaeus is a trickster and has a big mouth. This book takes place in London and Prague. It takes place in about 1980.

Nathaniel is the assistant head of Internal Affairs in the government. There is a Golem (a mythical demon) lurking around London and they have to find it. He also needs to find Kitty and the resistance before they cause any more trouble. Bartimaeus is bound to Nathaniel’s word. Kitty has a score to settle with head of internal affairs Mr. Julius Tallow. “Mr. Tallow wrecked my life! I will get him soon,” said Kitty. In this book, It rotates the prospective, but it is random whether it is Kitty, Bartimaeus or Nathaniel.

I loved this book because the writing was very descriptive, the characters were interesting, and it kept you on your toes. I would recommend this to people who like action and imgresviolence. There is a lot of that in this book! I would rate this book four stars! It was very good.

Mandy, By Julie Andrews Edwards

I read a book called Mandy, by Julie Andrews Edwards. I started to read it when I saw that a very famous actor was a writer. The book was about an orphan named Mandy. She would love to have a place to call her own. There is a big wall that is the border of the orphanage. One day Mandy finds a way to climb over the wall. When she gets over the wall she finds an old cottage in the woods. Everyday after school mandy climbs over the wall and does her best to make the cottage her own. She saves up her money to get things to use in her cottage and even lies to get the things for her cottage.

Two important events are when: One day Mandy is really sick. It is very cold out also but Mandy still goes to l the cottage. Another important event is when Sue, Mandy’s best friend and roommate follows her to the cottage. I won’t say why its important because it spoils the story. I think a decision that changes the story is when Mandy goes out when she is sick because it changes the rest of the story.

I really liked the book because It has a lot of adventure yet it doesn’t. I don’t like no adventure but I don’t like too much or it gets too busy for me to keep track of. I recommend the book to people who don’t like no adventure but don’t like a lot of it. I would rate the book 1000000 out of 5 stars.

Every Soul A Star By Wendy Mass

Every soul a star is another great book by Wendy Mass. It’s kind of like Wonder, where it switches points of view. There’s Ally, Bree, and Jack.

Ally is a girl who has no experience with the outside world and civilization. Her parents run the Moon Shadow campground, and she’s lived there all her life. She doesn’t have any friends, except the pretend ones that live on other planets. But her parents are selling the campground, and Ally will have to move to the city and start school. She won’t be able to see the stars anymore. But there is something to be happy for. There will be an Eclipse soon, and thousands of people from all over the world will come to the campground to view it.

Bree is the second most popular girl in school. Her life’s ambition is to be a model and has all the magazines to prove it. But her parents are scientists, and don’t understand her at all. So when her parents buy the Moon Shadow campground, Bree is horrified. She doesn’t want to see gross bugs.  But she can’t change her parent’s minds.

Jack lives a very normal life, but he doesn’t have any friends. He spends all his time in class doodling, and that’s how he gets into summer school. But Jack’s teacher calls saying that if he comes on an expedition to watch an Eclipse, he can get out of summer school. Obviously, he takes the offer.

These three people all find themselves becoming friends. This book really is about them learning to adjust to a new life. Ally has to learn to live in civilization, Bree has to learn to live outdoors and not care about what others think of her, and Jack has to learn how to find himself and make more friends.

They all really start becoming friends at this campout where they’re trying to find a planet or star or something like that. There’s a big storm and they have to sleep in a shed because they can’t walk back to the campgrounds. It’s also really cool when the Eclipse is happening and Bree “lets her inner geek be released” in her words.

I really liked this book, and I love the author, Wendy Mass. I feel this book wasn’t as good as the others I’ve read by her because it was mostly about Eclipses, and I don’t know that much about those and it was hard to follow. I would recommend this book to people who like and know a lot about science, because it’s a very sciencey book. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars because as I said before, it’s a little to sciencey for me, but it was still great.

Crogan’s Vengeance by Chris Schweizer

Crogan has a big problem. A pirate who Hates Crogan is the captain of Crogans ship and is  trying to kill Crogan. The setting of this book is Tortuga, another island, and Crogan’s ships. Actually, this book is really set in a random suburb because the author uses a framing device. A framing device is where you have two stories, usually someone is telling the story or thinking of it and the “framed” piece is the main part but the non-framed part is what’s really happening. Crogan is very acrobatic. There’s a reason he’s called “Catfoot” Crogan. He can swing from the crow’s nest on a rope in a semi circle and land next to the captain.imgres

Crogans old captain had a set of rules that keeps the pirates alive. For example one rule is not to plunder French ships because the pirates are helped by the French. A big event is when D’or (the new captain) decides to plunder a French ship so Crogan gets in trouble because too many people knew that Crogan was with D’or in a French island. That is also a problem because it means that D’or will give Crogan a bad reputation. Another important event is when the old captain give Tom Dander the small ship not D’or, his first mate because this makes D’or really mad. Theres a good quote from the old captain that helps prove my point. “In truth,I was surprised he didn’t throw thunder when I named Tom Dander captain ‘stead of him.”

I enjoyed this book a lot because it is good and has lots of action and suspense. Also, the story of Crogan is interesting because he starts as a man working for a crazy captain and ends up joining a pirate ship. I would recommend this book to people who like pirate adventures. I would also recommend this to people who like lots of action. I would rate this book ****4 stars out of five because it wasn’t that funny.

Poached by Stuart Gibbs

This book is a great book because: I love the characters and plot. This book is good for people who like realistic fiction and a mysterious plot. I love Stuart Gibbs so that is basically why I read this book.

The main character is Teddy Fitzroy but there are a lot of side characters that are really important. He is in middle school. His parents work at funjungle where most of the book happens. They live in Texas. Teddy is an outsider and of course outsiders lead to bullys and bullys lead to no good! Teddy is also not a very popular kid at his school. His best friend is always there for him, There friendship is very tight.

Teddy has always been pulling pranks on funjungle but this time he is forced to by Vance the bully. Large Marge is the zoo security, the general, and of course Teddy is her nemisis, because of all the pranks he has pulled.

But when a koala from australia goes missing and all the proof leads to Teddy… It is his job to proove to Marge and everybody else that it was not Teddy… or was it?

I rate this book 5***** stars because the plot is a great plot and as I mentioned I love Staurt Gibbs!

I reccomend this book to people who like Staurt Gibbs and some what like a mystery.
