Carry is a young girl living in 1763 in Pennsylvania. She loves to wright in her diary. And she has three younger siblings named Thomas and Eliza and baby Will. She goes to school every day. They have to take a long journey to their  clan area. When they get there Carry and Thomas get separated. And Carry worries that she will never see him again!

Lemony Snicket’s 8th book

2177292

In Lemony Snicket’s 8th book from the series of Unfortunate Events,  the Hostile  Hospital continues the story of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. These three orphans who are still up against the evil Count Olaf, who has been trying to get their fortune for a very long time now! Violet likes to invent items. Klaus is the book worm. Sunny is just an infant who has four sharp teeth which she like to bite stuff with which comes in handy a lot.  This story takes place in a hospital in the middle of nowhere.

This is where the siblings have been on the run. And now they sneak into a hospital  where  their arch enemy is. Also in the previous book they were framed for a crime they did not commit. The crime was murdering Count Olaf, which they didn’t do. Here is a quote from  the book. “Quick get the little orphan brats,(said Count Olaf)before its too late!”

I really liked this book because it was an adventure and mystery book. I would recommend this book to 4th graders and up because I think that they would get it the most. I would give this book 5  stars because it is a really good book!! – Ruby

The Austere Academy by Lemony Snicket

200px-Austere_academyI read Lemony Snicket’s 5th book from the series of Unfortunate Events called Austere Academy . It continues the story of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who are still up against the evil Count Olaf who has been trying to get their fortune for a very long time now! This story takes place in a boarding school. This is where the siblings meet another pair of orphans [as they are orphans themselves]. The other orphans are twins, a boy and a girl. They also had their parents die in a fire and also have there own little fortune of their own.

Also Count Olaf seems to follow them everywhere they go and that is why they are sent to the boarding school so that the man in charge of them Mr.Poe, can find a good home for them. But while at the boarding school Count Olaf still finds them and their new friends disappear with Count Olaf. Anyway  the boarding school is a terrible place because of so many reasons. One reason is that Sunny has to make staples all day.  And I must tell you that she is only one one-years-old. “Debo” is something that she says in the book which means “Why in the world would I have to make staples?!!?”

I really liked this book because it was an adventure and mystery book. I would recommend this book to 4th graders because I think that they would understand it the most.It is a bit complicated because you have to remember a lot of little details to help figure out the mystery. Well 4th grader and up would like this book. I would give this book 5  stars because it is a really good book!!

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

I think that  a winkle in time is a very good book. I don’t want to give a way to much of the book so I’ll tell you a little of the book .Its about  a girl named meg ,her brother charles and their friend Calvin. In this book they go on a big adventure through time and space others who have read it said that it was really confusing ,but I don’t think so. [Partly because I watch Doctor  Who].  I would give this book a 5*****star rating !! And I recommend this to 4th and 5th graders.

Behind The Bookcase By Mark Steensland

I think that behind the bookcase is a really good book. It is full of mystery and secret. And the main character [Sarah] doesn’t want to stay at her recently dead Grandmother’s house to clean it up for selling. Just as she  thinks that her summer is the worst weeks of her life ,she finds a unfinished letter from her grandmother that says strange things are happening behind the bookcase… She finds a new world and that is is where the adventure begins. I would rate  this a five star book. And recommend this book to 4th to 5th graders -Ruby Wexler

The Sisters Grimm by Michael Buckley

I think that the” Sisters Grimm” is  a very good book. It is a very good book for people who like adventures

because the “Sisters Grimm” books are all about adventure.  And I really liked it because there is a mystery

in each book that is solved at the end of each book. I also like it because it has fairy tale characters but they

don’t go through the stories, though it just has the characters after the story or event that happened to them.

I recommend  book or series to 3rd to 4th graders.

The Time Garden by Edward Eager

I think that “THE TIME GARDEN” is a very good book. As you follow Eliza, Ann and

Roger through a time travel adventure. The kids company on the Natterjack (a frog) helps them with their

adventures . When the kids want to go see there parenets  they wish to go to

london( because that’s where their parents are) they end up going to old london( in the

time of queen Elizabeth) .what will happen then?

I recommend this book to 4th and maybe advised  3rd graders .
