Divergent by Veronica Roth

This book is called Divergent by Veronica Roth. The main character in the books name is Tris short for Beatrice, she’s the kind of person who goes with any idea. The problem for this character is that she has to past a couple of test and if she does she will stay in her faction ( a faction is a group you choose to live with for the rest of your live when you our 18). This book takes place in a city in the future and if you don’t pass the test , you have to live on the street factionless. This book takes place in a city and the weird thing is that the perimeter is fenced off.

During the book she picks the faction Dauntless and thats the people she’s going to live with the rest of her life unless she doesn’t pass the test. “One choice can transform you”.  One of the test is to box someone and she loses so she almost has to live factionless. When she picks Dauntless her parents think she betrayed them and they don’t like her anymore. Do you think she’s going to pass the test,

if so, read the book.

Even though I didn’t finish this book It’s really good so far. The reason I like this book is because 1 It’s full of action 2 people get hurt and 3 there’s a lot of twist and turns. I would recommend this to people who enjoy a lot of problems and action. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

ENDERS GAME

UnknownThis book is about training kids to go to war. There is one kid named Ender and he gets bullied a lot and the teachers like him but he’s in the regular school so he gets upgraded to the battle school. They like him because he,s a good student. At the regular school he gets bullied a lot. At the battle school he has to train for war against the buggers. The buggers are like aliens and they already had a few battles with them.

During the story he makes a few friends but otherwise no one likes him because he’s so good at battle school. When he was good enough he became a commander and he became a commander of the the dragon army. After a few years he goes to command school to defeat the buggers. Every time Ender gets better the teachers make it harder for him. The people in his army keep on telling him that the teachers are the enemy not the army he’s playing against.

I loved this book and would rate it a 999,999,999,999 out of 1o and I would recommend it to you if you like science fiction. There is a bunch of other books in this series but I don’t know how much but I know it’s a lot. There’s other books that are the same as this one bit it’s from a different perspective like from his perspective.

City of Orphans by Avi

imgresThis book is about a newsie named Maks. Obviously he’s a newsie and he needs to get money for his family but there’s this gang called the Plug Uglies. The Plug Uglies steel newsies money. Maks however gets saved by this girl named Willa. Maks is a willing and nice boy and seems to get a lot of friends. The book takes place on the lower east side back in the 1910s.

After a while Maks goes home and his mother tells him that one of his sisters is in jail for ___________ (I don’t want to ruin it). And he has to go save her and he has a detective to help him get his sister out of jail. He has to go to the hotel that his sister worked at and got arrested at and find clues. The reason I know Bruno is mad is because he says “I’m going to get you”. Bruno’s boss is Brunswick. He tells Bruno what to do. Bruno brings the money that he stole to Brunswick.

I loved this book because it’s full of action. I would recommend it to people who like history and action and cliffhangers. I would rate this book a ten because it was even better than 5 stars.

World’s Greatest Sports Team Rivalries. by Matt Christopher

Unknown This book is obviously about the greatest sports team rivalries. The setting is either:a hockey rink, a football field, a basketball court, or a soccer field, or a baseball field. I didn’t enjoy this book.

In this book the rivalries are:Green Bay Packers VS Chicago Bears, DCunited VS The Los Angeles Galaxy, The Canadiens VS THE Chicago Blackhawks, The Boston Celtics VS The Los Angeles Lakers, Yankees VS The Red Sox.

The book tells you about the history of the rivalries and who is better in the rivalries. The book also tells the reader about famous sports players careers and their history in the rivalries.

The reason I don’t like this book is because I already know all the information that was in it. If I didn’t know anything I would of liked it more  I would rate it a 2 out of 5. My favorite part was when it ended. I would not recommend it to anyone.

The House of Hades by Rick Riordon

The House of Hades

This book takes place for two of the characters in Tartarus, a place where the monsters go when they die. The other characters are on a boat trying to find them. When they are in Tartarus they have to fight a bunch of monsters because thats where the monsters are re-born.

The main character is a boy named Percy Jackson and his dad this is Poseidon the god of the seas. Percy is sent out on a quest to kill Gaea the god of the earth with 7 others named Annabeth, Nico, Hazel, Coach Hedge, Piper, Jason, Frank, and Hazel. At the end of the book before this Annabeth and Percy fall into Tartarus.

This was really good and I would rate it a 10 out of 5 since it was so good And I would definitely read it again.

The Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck, by Jeff Kinney

My book is about Greg Heffley, the main character, who is mad that his best friend Rowley, has a girlfriend and he does not have a girlfriend.

It doesn’t say how old he is but he is in middle school. The book mostly takes place either at Greg’s house or at his school.

Greg talks about his life this school year and his troubles throughout the year like he gets new shoes but he steps in dog poop when he is waring his new shoes.

In the middle of the year he is so desperate that he wants to become friends with his enemy. But his friend leaves him and hangs out with another group of people.

I really liked this book and I would recommend it to you if you like to read about someones school year and life at home but with funny parts to. I would rate it 5 stars and I would definitely read it again.
