In the book Vordak the Incomprehensible by Scott Seegert the main character is Vordak the Incomprehensible. Vordak the Incomprehensible is a sore loser. I know this because he goes to a hot dog eating contest, loses and gets very mad.

Vordak the Incomprehensible is also greedy, selfish, and misunderstood. Vordak the Incomprehensible is greedy and selfish because he wants everything to himself. “well,well. It appears our new neighbors are installing a satellite dish, Armageddon. I must remember to tap into their signal when its complete”. Theres nothing quite like the thrill of watching cartoon network for free! MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

I liked the book because it was funny to read about his dog. I would recommend this book for people who like comics because it had a lot of comic strip jokes. I give the book a ***** star rating because it was really really funny.

The House of Hades

I just read this awesome book called The House of Hades by Rick Riordan in The Heroes Of Olympus Series. Do not keep reading  unless you have read the first three books in the series.

Jason has a problem. He is on a quest to save the world. Usually Jason and Percy share being the head of the group of seven, but now Percy and Annabeth are in Tartarus, which is a place in the underworld.  so now Jason is in charge and he can’t handle that pressure. All of the stuff is kind of depending on him. “Whether or not he made it back to New Rome after the war, Jason had to step up now and act like a praetor”.

Piper needs Jason. She has a big crush on him. They are kind of together. But Piper also needs Jason because she can’t fight a fight by herself. But she has Hazel to help her. Hazel is Piper’s closest friend. Everyone is always underestimating her. “ Still underestimating me,” Piper told the goddess. ‘’ You really need to work on that”

Hazel can’t do this. She is supposed to be able to use magic. But no one decided to show Hazel how to do that. Her boyfriend Frank isn’t really helping, though he is trying. She is supposed to use her magic when they enter the underworld. Too much pressure. “I can’t even control my own dreams , She wanted to scream. How am I supposed to control the mist?”

Frank can’t live up to this. He does not want to be  a son of Mars, it makes him seem to strong and he feels so weak. All Frank can do is change into animals. His full life depends on a stick. If that stick burns, he dies. Leo’s teasing doesn’t help.  “Leo’s always teasing me, but this one really stuck to me I know I am not as pricey as Percy or Jason but am I at least worth 2 or 3 Franks?”

Percy is going insane. He is Tartarus the darkest place of the underworld. Monsters he killed are everywhere, waiting for revenge. Percy would not survive unless Annabeth his Girlfriend was there too. “They sat together on a ledge next to a fiery waterfall. “

Annabeth is too guilty. She was the one who got Percy here in the first place. Tartarus is not a place for Annabeth or for anyone who has at least one braincell. Not many people do here. She also lost her favorite kanife and is without a weapon. “When they reached the ledge Annabeth was sure she’d signed their death warrants.”

Leo can’t focus. If the person who was about to kill him was a girl, Leo would fall in love with her and trust her. Lucky for him everyone they are facing is a girl. All Leo can do is build things, fix things and break things after he makes them. Leo also is not considered smart. “He didn’t know  italian for Hello, may I see your dangerous chemicals please?”

I loved this book and think you will too. I recommend it to anyone who likes magical realism. I rate this book ******************** stars out of 5. It is also really funny. “Bob the Titan sat crossed legged next to the altar, happily munching on a piece of pizza.”

I am reading a book called This Isn’t What It Looks Like by Pseudonymous Bosch. It has two main characters, one named Cass, who is a survivalist, for example she keeps shovels in her school backpack  just in case a blizzard comes and She

gets covered in snow. There is another main character named Max-Ernest who is super smart and talks really fast, like when someone says something that is not accurate, he goes crazy and corrects it. The author of this book chooses to keep where this book takes place a secret, but it is sort of part of the story.

This book is about Cass getting in a coma. She does not get in a coma for normal reasons like being stressed, she gets in a coma because she ate a piece of chocolate that brings her back in time. This chocolate was made by a world famous evil chef.  This chocolate is supposed to help her find out “the secret” but stuff start to go not so much as planned. Max-Ernest learns that he is not allergic to chocolate and eats a little bit too much. It said in the book “Max-Ernest felt the need to eat 7 chocolate bars.” So now you get an idea of how much chocolate Max-Ernest was eating. This book also is about Cass and Max-Ernest trying to keep some “people” from finding out the secret, because the secret is a little bit too powerful for the “people” to handle.

I really liked this book because it is very mysterious, and every five minutes I almost fall out of my seat because something really unexpected happened in the book that changes the whole story. I rate this book five stars because it is surprising and I like that about it. I recommend this book to people who like being surprised because this book is very surprising.

The Vanishing Coin, by Kate Egan, Eric Wight, and magician Mike Lane is about a kid named Mike who prefers to do magic tricks instead of his homework. In his own words he’s not so smart because it takes him a while to finish his homework.

The settings of the book are the school, his house, Nora’s house, and the White Rabbit. The White Rabbit is an antique store but when Nora and Mike go to the back of the store they find out that it is also a magic store. Nora is a girl that moved next door to Mike. Mike thinks she’s amazing because she is very very smart.

Mike always ends up in the principal’s office, at least once a week. The reason he gets in the principal’s office is because he can’t sit still. Mike’s enemy’s name is Jackson, Jackson is a bully and he is always teasing Mike. Nora sometimes helps Mike with his problems. For example, when Nora and Mike and Nora’s Mom had to go to the dentist Nora knew that he was getting mad because he can’t sit still so Nora asked to take a walk.

I enjoyed this book because it actually tells you how to do magic tricks. One of the tricks you can learn is how to make a coin vanish. I recommend this book to people who like magic, and are looking for a quick read. I rate this book 4-5 stars.

PS, you may only find this book on the fourth grade shelf in the library.

This book was a really good book. It is about two girls, one named Dina and the other Chelsea. It is about popularity and everything is about how popular you are and how you look. The chapters switch so it’s really fun to read it. The girls are in 8th grade and have to work on a video project together, that’s where they get to know each other.

I rate this book three stars out of five, because I think it was too long when it came to explaining what they were doing.

The 9 lives of Alexander Baddenfield had a very, very, very slow start but got an exciting twist and a great plot after the first 30 or so pages.

Alexander is a boy who wants nine lives because if his family curse. He is rich so he asks a doctor to get him 9 lives. After he gets the nine lives he starts wasting his lives until he is down to one. See what happens to him next if you read the book.

This book is about a murderer that is on a ship and tried to murder 2 people but Max a teenage boy is not going to give up on trying to get the man. This mystery is a good one and at most parts they start talking about boring stuff bet then it gets really good.

          At some parts you might feel like putting the book down but keep going. Like don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but it goes a little into the book. It’s a good book other than that.

       People would like this book if they liked mysteries. If you want to read this book don’t do it in bed.

I would give this book 4****.

I read the book Dog in the Diamond Collar, by Rebecca Lisle. I thought this book was terrible because it was too childish. For example, the jokes were meant for younger children and I did not find them funny. The main character was a dog, named Cheeky Monkey, who had a diamond collar and was mean to butlers. However, when his owner gets kidnapped, the dog is helpful in finding him. Cheeky Monkey gets help from three kids. I would not recommend this book because it was boring. I would give this book one star.
