This book is about a girl named Emily Fletcher. Emily’s mom works at a animal clinic and Emily loves dogs. Emily doesn’t have a pet of her own though even though she want one. Emily is shy and is new. Emily’s mom works in the middle of the woods, so they take care of the injured animals in the woods and then when they are healed the get sent back in the woods. Emily’s dad has moved to seattle with anew family so Emily’s parents are divorced.

Later on Emily hears strange stuff about the woods. Some of the animals in the woods have disappeared. A boy named Kevin who also works at the animal clinic tells Emily that maybe monsters and ghost took all the animals. Emily doesn’t believe in that stuff like monsters and magic but she still wonders what or who took all the animals. The next day Emily walks the dogs and then emily heard a noise and two dogs named Biscuit and Jelly Bean ran away to see what the noise was coming from. Emily later on finds out that a girl named Adrian lives in the woods, she is strange and she doesn’t believe in friends. Also Emily meets a girl named Kara and she is spoiled  a popular girl at school.

I would recommend this book to somebody who likes adventure and animals because there a lot of animals like in the parts in the animal clinic. And there is lot’s of adventure in the parts when Emily meets her friends and much more. I would rate this book 5 stars because I love animals (Dogs) and I love adventure books.

NO FLYING IN THE HOUSE

I recently read a really exciting book called NO FLYING IN THE HOUSE.

This book is by Betty Brock. The main characters in my book are Annabell Tippens,( who is secretly a fairy,) Gloria, (Who is a small white dog who talks, knows 367 tricks, and is Annabell’s caretaker,) and Mrs Vancourt. Annabell’s main problem is a supposed golden cat with emerald eyes. This cat is really a wicked fairy named Belinda. Belinda is Gloria’s enemy. Belinda tells annabell that she is a fairy. Other information from Belinda is how Annabell can fly, what her parents did that angered the kings of the fairies, ( who is Annabell’s grandfather by the way,) and who her mother that Annabell never knew was.

The plot is very twisty and turny. At one point, Gloria transformed  herself into a golden dog with diamond eyes. What Belinda was trying to do was that if she made Annabell want to stay a fairy forever, then Annabell’s parents would be stuck on the island of Exile forever! But, Annabell chose to stay a mortal after she knew how to fly, because she wanted her parents. Here is a quote from Annabell when she learned about her parents. “ And if I don’t go with you, if I stay here and become a mortal forever and ever, will my parents be free?” A quote from the cover is “ what  if you found out that you were a fairy?” That is because Annabell is half fairy. Her mother is a fairy, and her father is a mortal.

I really enjoyed this book because it was one thing after another and all was exciting. I would recommend this book to those who like fantasy and comedy, and surprises throughout the book, because there is plenty to be found in my book. I would rate this 100 out of 5 stars, but I can only do five, so I guess that will do.   

The Greatest byWalter Dean Myers is a great and fantastic biography about Muhammad Ali

This book is about Muhammad Ali Walter amazing and great life and how he becomes the Heavyweight champion. Muhammad Ali is not just any sports player, he is special and went through a lot of things such as being drafted into the army and growing up in louisiana.

I enjoyed this book so much because as all of you know I love sports and I love reading biographies about sports players. I like reading about sports players because they are not fiction and they do not slay dragons. Also one night I might be reading about them and the next night they might score 50 points.

My favorite quote from Muhammad Ali is “Float like a butterfly sting like a bee.” Because of how descriptive and braggy it is about how he plays, He is very elegant and can move swift and speedy but can also give you a good blow in the face if you are not looking. And that describes his quote.

I would rate this book 5 stars out of 5 because of the great story telling by the author

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan is about Jason Grace son of Jupiter (Zeus), Piper McLean daughter of Aphrodite, and Leo Valdez son of Hephaestus. After finding out that their coach (Coach Hedge) is a satyr (a goat from the waist down), they go to Camp Half Blood with Annabeth (girlfriend of Percy Jackson and daughter of Athena) and Butch (son of Iris the Rainbow Goddess). The problem is that Hera is kidnapped and she needs to be saved before the Winter Solstice. The setting is Camp Half Blood and everywhere that Jason, Piper, and Leo go on the quest, to save Hera, who is the wife of Zeus and queen of the gods.

Jason is confused. He has absolutely no idea who the people are next to him or where he is. He thinks that the girl next to him is very pretty and the boy next to him looks very busy building something. Piper has a secret. She has had very weird dreams about a greek giant named Enceladus who is threatening to kidnap and kill her dad unless she does what he says. Leo is excited. He can’t wait to go to the Grand Canyon with his best friends.

After Jason, Piper, and Leo find out that their parents are gods, they are sent out to save Hera from a monster that will perhaps destroy the world… There are a lot of major events like finding long lost siblings, encountering people who are supposed to be dead, and monsters of course!

Jason, Piper, and Leo have to make some very, very, VERY big decisions. Jason has to decide if he should trust these strangers (Piper and Leo) or not. Piper has to decide whether to betray her friends (like Enceladus said) or to save Hera. Here is what Piper said, “We have to talk. I don’t want to hide anything from you guys anymore. Three nights before the Grand Canyon trip, I had a dream vision-a giant, telling me my father had been taken hostage. He told me I had to cooperate, or my dad would be killed.” Leo has to decide whether or not to tell Jason and Piper his big secret that I can’t tell you or it will ruin the book for you.

I enjoyed this book because there are a lot of exciting things that happen, for example: When the storm spirits first arrive at the Grand Canyon. I also enjoyed this book because the whole time you have no idea where Percy is so it makes you think a lot. Lastly,  I enjoyed this book because you can really relate to the characters even if Piper’s dad is held captive by a giant from greek mythology. I can relate to it because when my mom or dad go on a long trip, I miss them. I know that is a weird relation but it’s true.

I would recommend this book to people who like/liked the Olympians Series because it is the follow up series. I also would recommend this book to people who like magical realism, action, adventure, and being able to relate to the book because it is one of those books where it sucks you in.

Wayside School Is Falling Down

The Book is called wayside school is falling down by Adam Mccauley. It is about a couple kids but in each chapter Mrs.Jewls[the teacher in the book i am reading] is in it so I was thinking that she is the main character. Mrs Jewls always tries to help out a kid she is teaching and usually the chapter ends with cliff hanger. It takes place at Wayside school. The school is crazy and mrs. Jewls teaches there.

In a chapter Jason a kid chewed on pencils. Another time a kid named DJ  was always  happy but this day DJ was not happy and that made Kathy a kid be happy since he is always happy and she is always sad because of him. The main character Mrs.Jewls never really changed but her students did by being happy again and things like that. Mrs. Jewls is very nice and caring. I do not know if she has kids but if she does she would be a great mom. She says “ Jason give it back” and that is caring to me.

I have only read from page i to 84 and there are 179 pages but I love it so far. This is a good book for 3rd and 4th because it is the perfect level, [ that is at least what i think] . It is funny and it has a bunch of different chapters. I rate this book 5 stars out of 5****.

The Day My Butt Went Psycho, is a book about a boy named Zack.  The book, The Day My Butt Went Psycho is Written by Bestselling Author Andy Griffiths.  The Other main characters in the book are Eleanor and the B-team.  The problem is that butts are trying to take over the world and put butts on top of peoples neck and heads instead of butts.  The setting takes place in about 6-8 places.

After Zack finds out that butts are trying to take over he goes to fight them and their powers bare handed.  He finds some help and he and his friends go to take control over the situation.  One person is trying to foil their plans but they do not know who it is.  There are two moments in the story when Zack has changes, The changes that he has push the story around.  A problem about Zack is that he is cowardly and he is always being called an IDIOT.  Like a part from the book is when Zack falls into nettles and picks a fight by coming up to him yelling “You idiot, you absolute idiot!  you idiotic stupid moronic stupid idiotic idiot”.  butt

I enjoyed this book because it is full of butts and to me butts that talk and butts can think are very amusing to read about and a very likely topic my mom and dad would hate.  It is very funny because it is full of butts that explode butts that sing and butt piranhas, poopoises siren buttts that smell and sing like heaven and last “butt” not least there are butt hunters butt catchers, butt fighters and the butt teams. I would recommend this book to people who really like something funny and something I would recommend to you if you know this is not on your parents favorite topic to talk about.  I would recommend this book to you for that reason because it is full of butts and all that other stuff I do not want to go over again.  I would rate this book 1,000 out of 10 stars!

A great book for you and your butt to snuggle up and read!!!!

I recently read Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs. I think the book is called Belly Up because when the hippo died, his belly went up. The main character’s name is Teddy Fitzroy who is twelve years old, mischievous and smart. The story takes place at a big zoo called Funjungle which has a mascot named Henry the Hippo. The main problem of the story is that Henry the Hippo suddenly dies, and Teddy tries to figure out who killed the hippopotamus or how he died. The plot is complicated. The action moves around a lot because there is so much going on in the book. Many things pop up in your face as you read the book to make you keep reading.

As you read the book, it might not make sense immediately, so you have to be patient to to understand the story. Funjungle is a big zoo that has unique areas for different kinds of animals. For example, there is Hippo River, Reptile World and Carnivore Canyon (not open yet). Teddy has to go through all these areas to find evidence of how the hippopotamus died. When Teddy is in Reptile World, he searches for clues and someone sets out a poisonous snake to scare him off. For example, on page 122 the book says, “I rounded a stand of fake trees and something lunged at me.” They did this to make sure that Teddy didn’t get any information about the person who killed Henry the Hippo. When a girl named Summer Mcracken (the park owner’s daughter) comes into the story, she becomes friends with Teddy and wants to find out more about the death of Henry. Because she’s the park owner’s daughter, she has the power to help Teddy get into places that will give him more clues. This will eventually lead him to who killed Henry the Hippo.

The first reason I like the book is because of the mystery. My favorite part of the book is when Teddy sneaks into the autopsy, (it means to cut an animal open and see how it died.) He almost gets caught by the two sneaky characters, Doc and Martin (who is the businessman,) who are doing the autopsy. The second reason I like the book is because it’s humorous. For example, once Teddy and Summer go swimming in the hippo pool full of poop. Finally, I like all the characters because they all have different personalities. Summer is funny and Teddy is mischievous. For example, Teddy gave the monkeys water balloons and the monkeys threw them at tourists.

I liked this book and rate it 4½ stars out of 5 stars. I really liked this book because I was constantly asking myself what was going to happen next. Will Teddy also go belly up?

I am reading a book called The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. It has three main characters. One named Jason, one named Leo and one named Piper. All three of them got mysteriously taken to a camp called Camp Half Blood. Camp Half Blood is a camp for half bloods. A half blood is someone who has one parent who is a greek god and one parent who is a regular person. Camp half blood is a place where half bloods have to train to go on quests. A quest is basically an adventure that not a lot of half bloods go on, to save someone or to get something. It is a very good community. Everyone who goes there is sort of like a family. They do things together and they are all friends in one way or another

They all got taken to Camp Half Blood, and immediately have to go on a quest. The quest is to save Hera, a very important greek god. All of Olympus would just fall apart without Hera, because Hera keeps the family of the gods together. Hera is the wife of Zeus. She has been kidnapped and Jason, Piper and Leo have to go on a quest to help save her. You have to read on in order to find out if they save her or not. Camp Half Blood is a place with strawberry fields, and it is meant to help half bloods train for quests. It is where most half bloods go.

Everything is going wrong without Hera, like Jason and Piper keep on seeing visions of Hera and also, a very important Half Blood named Percy Jackson has gone missing! Piper is mostly going on the quest because she is hoping that she will find her dad who has been missing for three days. She is hoping that on the quest, she will find him. Jason does not remember anything. He has no idea who he is or where he has been. All he knows is that something is not right. He senses it. He is going on the quest, hoping that he will get his memory back.

Leo is a mischievous kid who has a way with tools. He keeps on seeing the ghost of his babysitter named Tía Callida who tried to kill him! He is hoping that that has something to do with Hera being missing, so that if he completes the quest, Leo will stop seeing the ghost of his babysitter. Leo thinks Tía Callida had been trying to kill him, but maybe she was trying to make Leo stronger. On page 137, Tía Callida said, “Where is your bravery, little hero? Show me the fates were right to choose you.” Do you think Tía Callida has been trying to kill Leo or trying to make him stronger? Maybe Tía Callida was trying to see if Leo could stay alive after she let Leo play with a Rattle Snake.

I am really enjoying this book because I like how Rick Riordan included greek mythology in this book. I also like how he describes the setting in a way where you have to think in order to understand the setting. I also like how the book is really funny when Leo is talking. I would recommend this book to people who like magical books because this book is magical, in a realistic way. I also would recommend this book to people who like funny books because this book has funny quotes here and there. I would rate this book four stars.

The book that I read over the past week is The Keys To The Kingdom Mr. Monday by Garth Nix. The main character’s name is Arthur. He is very curious. Arthur’s problem is that he was given a key by a
mysterious man and he has no idea what to do with it.  He discovers many mysterious things that have been following him. When he has the key his wounds go away and things come to life. Arthur is trying to get to the bottom of this. This story takes place in the present because they describe phones and all kinds of current technology.

Arthur was given the key by a man named Mr Monday who thought Arthur was going to die as soon as he got it. Mr Monday’s assistant Sneezer betrayed him and somehow the key did the exact opposite. Mr Monday has been trying to get Arthur’s key back with his henchmen who are dog humans. The Fetcher look more like dogs in attack mode and like humans when in defense mode. Arthur also got an atlas with the key. In the atlas it said that the weakness of the dog like Fetchers is salt. When he pours salt on them it lets out a  horrifying fume that puts the school in quarantine. In the atlas it also said that there was a house in his neighborhood that belonged to Mr Monday. Arthur decides to go inside and finds out wonders. I am pretty sure if Arthur was not so curious none of this  would have happened. Like Arthur’s mom said “Curiosity kills”… and in his case literally.

I enjoyed the book because it kept me in suspense the whole time. Also it is very interesting so I always think about the book , even when I am not reading it. I also like the way the story changes from Arthur being a normal person to being some kind of wizard. I would recommend this book to somebody who can remember their facts from the beginning all the way to the end. But I mainly recommend this to people who like big surprises because if you don’t, this is not for you. I rate this book five out of five stars.
