Person (people) with whom you met and their title(s) & Name of Organization: Mr. Young, EDU Consultant

Reflection:

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that many schools are having to hire more social workers to help kids during this time of isolationism from friends. They can help kids cope with that is going on. Another important thing that I learned is that the first kids that should come back to school, are kids that have problems at home (which I already knew), but also kids of essential workers. Mr. Young also said that this use of essential workers should include parents who if they weren’t able to go to work, they wouldn’t be able to have food on the table. If these parents kids could get back in school, then they can get back to providing for their families and all of us.
