Always send a thank you note. 

Email thank you notes are fine. There are times when we will write a hand written thank you, especially if we spend significant time volunteering with an organization.

Dear Person’s First and Last Name,

We are grateful to have been able to work with/interview you and/or volunteer at Name of Organization. We were able to learn/experience__________ (add something specific and personal). We are committed to our Social Justice topic of XX and without your assistance we would not be able to learn what we need to make change. Thank you for making this possible! We will be in touch with more information about our project and podcast for you to see.
