Speaking The Truth From an X Games Gold Medalist, Alex Scholpy

In this fieldwork, I learned so much. For example, X games athletes, or any athlete who participates in action sports are so eager for adrenaline that they will sometimes abuse substances to get through to themselves again when they have that buzz of adrenaline. Apparently not getting a trick was also fuel for that fire… until you get hurt. Abusing substances was also fuel for the fact that sometimes you will lose things, like sponsors, and other important things in the world of action sports.

Sometimes his body would tell him otherwise but he would disregard the fact that his body was telling him otherwise, he pushed and pushed and pushed. but then the end of his career came really suddenly, at DEW TOUR, he got sick and could not compete in a competition, he did not think much would arise out of this. but since he was basically a product for their brand so when he did not show up, they all just dropped him then and there. when he was contemplating doing this one trick in the big air he was so stressed and there was so much anxiety coursing through his veins, that he did not sleep that night at all. He also said that the majority of action sports athletes do not notice how much achahol and drugs affect them in the long run, but after career ends they really are in a bad possition in life.
