Reading to Kids!

Name: Jamie Neiberg

Social Justice Group: 2018-2019, Homelessness & Education

Date of Fieldwork: February 26, 2019

Name of Organization: Homes for the Homeless

Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles: Unknown

Type of Fieldwork: Direct Action

What I did:

We read to 3 year olds!

What I learned:

I learned what homelessness and housing instability does to kids. One of the little girls asked me, “Where were you yesterday? I missed you!” Having clean, kind older kids come and read and give attention to them seriously changes their day.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that more kindness is never bad!

Jamie
