Inside the NBA!

On March 1st, 2023, we visited the NBA offices. Upon arrival we were already star struck with the efficiency shown by the employees. Everything was so well thought of and executed, almost every detail and having a hidden meaning, it was like it was out of a movie. After we were kindly greeted we started touring all the amazing rooms of NBA players. Many players were actually activists as well, helping the commutes in which they grew up in. Also many players help with some of the things that NBA Cares funds. NBA cares is basically a massive part of the NBA because they take a lot of the profit and try to help foundations and create new ones. It is truly a magical and almost flawless section of the NBA. We talked with many people who were apart of NBA cares and jr. NBA teams, another organization that helps with youth sports. The many people we talked too are leaders there and helped raise almost 80 million dollars to the BLM movement and almost 300 million dollars for every social justice cause they helped with. The trip was so information packed and well planned we are even more grateful for the person who set it all up, Adia Klein.

Pascal is currently an eighth-grade student at LREI. He is focusing on youth sports and equity because he has had his own fair share of experiences playing sports but more specifically, basketball. Although he has had a fortunate experience with sports, being very privileged, he still understands and still sees what others go through and issues that pop up in society.
