Reflection:

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

Due to our countries system, states can make their own laws regarding abortions. That’s why we see some states have much easier access than others, for example NY vs LA. The Hyde Amendment is the number one thing that restricts women in poverty from having an abortion. In the early 1900’s, abortion was a common procedure. That only changed when restrictions were made to prevent at home abortions. This wasn’t to try and restrict abortions, but to make it safer for women.
