What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:
We learned that women in the NWHL are often discriminated against and aren’t even paid enough to do hockey as a full-time sport. We learned that often times organizations like the NFL will just say empty words to try and say that they aren’t racist but you can often tell that they don’t mean what they say.
