Women’s March

Name: Eli

Social Justice Group: Gun Control

Date of Fieldwork: January 20, 2018

Name of Organization: Women’s March

Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles:

Type of Fieldwork: Direct Action

What I did:

We went to the women’s march to protest.

What I learned:

I learned that there are so many different people fighting for the same thing. I also learned that veryone there was there to fight for their rights, whether it was race, gender, LGBTQ, or gun violence. It was super inspiring to see everybody there.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that in order for there to be change, we must fight. The women’s march is so powerful because it is protesting everything. I felt so inspired just being there and seeing everyone chanting and raising signs. I was so happy to be a part of it and protest a huge problem in our country today.
