Our Interview with Danielle Fazzolari

Name: Milei

Social Justice Group: Women and Education

Date of Fieldwork: December 13, 2017

Name of Organization: WEP

Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles: Danielle Fazzolari

Type of Fieldwork: Interview

What I did:

In our interview we went to WEP headquarters which is located in the Gowanus. We talked about how we can help the situation and do things like do a fundraiser and host a meeting and talk about the topic of Women’s Education.

What I learned:

Danielle mentioned that they were focused on girls from India. They were talking bout how they had a base in India where they had programs and mini workshops for girls. Something I learned in this interview is that their are a lot of young girls in India who start working. Girls in India who are really young tend to go in the street and sell things in order to make money for their family

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that sometimes certain things aren’t a huge success. Danielle Fazzolari and Zoe Timms, the founder of WEP are the only two people in this project. If you are to start a civil and/or human rights work I guess you smart small and sometimes grow bigger. Being in a movement takes for social justice takes a lot of work and commitment and also can take a long time on trying to reach your main goal.
