Our sixth fieldwork was having the amazing opportunity of talking to Drew Barrymore. As you may know, she has been in the media since an early age and she has made her own production company to portray women in a realistic way. Thanks to my father who works with her, we got to call her and interview her. She told us that women should not sit around and let everything that is happenings happen. She said that everyone has a voice and should use it. Something that she told us that surprised us was that “woman can’t have it all”. When she said this in public, there was a lot of controversy about what she had said but after we questioned her, she explained that what she meant by that phrase was that woman can’t have it all at one time. People shouldn’t expect women to do everything for others and that sometimes, you need time to breath, especially being a celebrity! She also told us that we should tune out the negative voices inside of us and that “What is in your heart and head will take you further than anything else.” Overall this was a truly exceptional interview and we are so thankful to have had the opportunity.
