We recently met with and interviewed Brian Torres about his documentary on climate change. He originally came to our school to present his work, and we contacted him later to talk more. His documentary, El Nevado is about climate change and how kids are involved and how they are or are not educated on the topic. We talked about our project with him and he told us about his. We learned about him getting involved in climate change and what motivated him to make his documentary. When in Argentina, he went to the mountain Nevado Del Plomo, and saw how time had changed it. The mountain was melting from climate change. He in turn decided to make people aware of climate change though this documentary. He also said that he likes working with younger people because they are more open minded. It’s also interesting to hear what kids know about climate change because they need to know what it is so they are aware and can help to change it. The interview went very well, and I’m glad we got to learn about his project.
