For my Social Justice fieldwork my group watched a movie on these three families who are below the poverty level. It was fascinating seeing what it is like to not have much. You don’t realize that you have a lot until it is taken away. During the movie it was so hard to watch a scene on the main character, Britney, giving away her dog because the dog costed to much money to take care of. I also thought it was very touching when Britney and her friend went looking for cans so that they could make some money. However, Britney knew that it wasn’t going to be fun collecting cans. So, Britney would play games with her friends to see who could collect more cans to make it fun. It was hard to watch because Britney knew that her family was poor however, it didn’t stop her from doing what she loved. Britney loved playing with her dog, collect cans and playing with her brother. Overall, I found the movie very knowledgeable and full with information. I had a couple of questions after the movie: What is the main characters salary a year and how does that compare to the average family in America?
