Reflection:

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that New York City Relief is a mobile outreach that helps people who struggle with homelessness and poverty. They drive buses to certain locations throughout the city and serve soup and bread to people who need it. They also hand out socks and hygiene kits, masks, and hand sanitizer to help with the pandemic. They also talk to people who are looking for jobs, housing, and city benefits. Their goal is to help people get off the streets, and want to help them through that process one step at a time

Jade

Jade is an eighth grade student at LREI. She was born in New York City and her pronouns are she/her. She is part of the Hunger in New York City group with Claire Fleming.
