What I did and what I learned about my topic, activism, social justice work or civil and human rights work from this fieldwork?[:: :

We had an interview with Linda Escalante. She is the legislative director of the NRDC and it was very nice to meet with her. We learned a lot about what she does, speaking to groups of government workers convincing them to take action against the major issues that are at the root of this problem. The NRDC itself is an organization that works to better the planet. They don’t only focus on water pollution, they also do a lot of work with communities, health, food, energy, and the wild.

Since our topic is water pollution and its effects on climate change, our hopes were to learn about the major effects water pollution can have. Although the interview got cut short, we learned a lot about where water comes from, how it is used, and what pollutes it the most. This interview was very informative and I think that we learned a lot of useful information. I feel like this interview engaged us all a lot more into our topic. What I mean by this is that Linda talked a lot and gave us loads of information that made me personally want to learn more about water pollution and how I can help fix it.
