Reflection:

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

Since the pandemic started, law officials have used it as an excuse to try and prevent abortion access. The clinics struggled when the pandemic first hit, but now they are used to it and are doing better. Since most people are off work or work at home, they have used their free time to protest outside of abortion clinics. They cough and spit on the patients going into get an abortion, which is cruel and dangerous especially due to the pandemic. Gretchen educated us about the barriers most people have to go through to access abortion, because of racism, poverty, etc.
