What I did:

What I learned:

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

1. 10.7 percent of the world suffers from malnutrition, but most of the world isn’t even aware it exists.
2. there are 3 amount of different types of malnutrition. wasting, stunting, and obesity. some people are unaware that obesity is actually a sign of malnutrition but it actually is.
3. the reason that obesity is actually a sign of malnutrition is that malnutrition is not actually the lack of food but the lack of the right nutrients. famine and malnutrition are not the same things. but they do actually leed to one another so when there is one there tends to be another.
4. UNICEF is in 190 countries and this is because they are only in the countries that are in a struggle. for example, they aren’t in the countries like the US unless they are doing a fundraiser or after a hurricane or other natural disaster.
5. Yemen is the number one country for people with malnutrition because it’s going through war/violence but also because of money and the fact they are not only going through malnutrition but also they are on the border of famine.
6. UNICEF actually gives bars to people that are full of nutrients but the problem but these people also need more food, not just more nutrients.
