Vote for Amendment 4.

Name: Xander

Social Justice Group: 2018-2019

Date of Fieldwork: October 1, 2018

Name of Organization: Lift Every Vote

Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles: Brigette Olsen and Molly Harris

Type of Fieldwork: Direct Action

What I did:

We wrote post cards to people in Florida telling them to vote for Amendment 4.

What I learned:

We made post cards to help past Amendment 4. That Amendment is to re enfranchise felons. We sent these post cards to residents in Jacksonville to tell them to Vote for Amendment 4. I learned that there are 1.5 million felons in the state of Florida. Each county has a different time for voting because Florida wants to eliminate voting in some areas.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that one post card may not make a difference but 247 will. I learned that it takes a lot of work to make a difference.
