Meeting with The GO project

We met with the organization GO Project. They work with kids that are behind grade level and get them up to speed. At the meeting there were three team leaders. They talked about the progress and what they do with the kids. One thing that struck me was when one of the leaders said that one of their kids couldn’t hold a pencil. They then taught the kid how to hold a pencil and now he can write. This struck me because he was expected to go on the next year and be able to write well. If the teacher doesn’t teach you how to hold a pencil how can you write?
