Speaker Series

For our third fieldwork, we went to a speaker series on juvenile incarceration at the LREI Highschool. There we listened to Frank Greenburger and other social justice activists. We learned that though America has just 5 percent of the world’s population, it has 25 percent of the world’s incarcerated. This was very shocking, I never would have expected the number to be so high. We also learned about some ways that police try to benefit off of arresting people of color. This was very helpful field work because it gave a view on what happens after people of color are incarcerated.
