Interview With Ronald Kuby

My group and I had the wonderful experience of meeting Mr.Ronald Kuby, a reputable American criminal defense and civil rights lawyer, radio talk show host and TV commentator. We went to his law office, where he gave us an interview entailing his past experiences with police brutality. When asked about why he is so taken with this topic, he told us a story about a younger him, enrolled in the University of Kansas, receiving his degree in cultural anthropology when he had his arm broken by police officers who were attempting to break up an anti-apartheid rally he attended. He also spoke on how he opposed the broken windows policing, and statistics around it.  He says that the police are comparing two unrelated figures and coming to a conclusion that by doing one thing, the other will stop. He was very open to discussing his past cases, and how he has been a voice for those who were quieted down by police violence. This was a very educational experience for my group mates and I.
