I am reading the The Terrible Two Get Worse, the second book in the series The Terrible Two, by Jory John and Mac Barnett. The book takes place in Yawnee Valley and the year is around 2016. Miles and Niles, the two main characters, are clever pranksters but during school they are the teachers’ pets. Miles and Niles mostly pull pranks on Principal Barkin, a blowhard who bosses people around a lot.
Miles, one of my favorite main characters, is sneaky, smart, and clever. He is sneaky when he and Niles creep into their school about fourteen hours early to pull a prank. The reason why I think he is smart, is when they are doing a quick prank he thinks of one fast. Finally, why I think he is clever is he and Niles can do pranks and nobody ever knows it’s them. They are the best students and fool everyone at the meetings where they try to figure out who did the pranks.
One of the most important parts of the book is when Niles and Miles do a prank and it gets Principal Barkin fired and Barkin’s father, who used to be the Principal, replaces him. That is important because the bossy Principal Barkin is really easy to prank. At first, Miles and Niles were a little happy about Principal Barkin leaving, but when they realize Principal Barkin’s dad turns the school into a boot camp, they try to get Principal Barkin back. The reason why they don’t want Barkin’s dad to be Principal is because he is harder to prank then they thought and they want to bring the fun back to their classmates.
I liked this book because it has what I like in a book–it’s funny, at times it’s suspenseful, and there are pranks! I also enjoyed this book because there is always something going on that keeps you entertained. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fun books. It’s also the perfect book for a reader who wants interesting characters. I think this book is similar to The Twits by Roald Dahl because they both have a lot of pranking in it. I would rate this book four stars.
The book I’m reading is called who was King Tut, it takes place in the early 13oos, in the desert, back then, life was very different. People got married at the very young age of ten. Also, kings and queens and other people of the 13oos wore clothes that were much more different than the clothes and accessories we wear today. The Kings dressed very fancy with beads on their fancy hats and crowns. King Tut grew up in the desert. Many of the Games, toys and clothes that once belonged King tut are in museums. When the museums first opened with all the treasures inside, people went crazy trying to get in. People were amazed by all the famous King’s treasures. So who was King Tut? King Tut was a boy king and the ruler of Egypt who died before he was twenty. He is Also a three thousand year old mummy! He was born around 1343. He became the king of Egypt when he was 10 years old. Back then when someone died, they would paint pictures of them. But it was not only to remember them and honor but the people believed that the pictures could come back to life. So the artists made sure to include all the persons arms and leg so that the person would be able to walk when he/she “came back to life.” Also the artists had to draw the person when he/she was young and and healthy. If the person came back to life they would want to look young and healthy not old and sick like around the time they died. Although not born of royalty, Nefertiti looked very much like she belonged with the people of royalty. Nefertiti was Tut’s wife. Nefertiti was very beautiful.
