For our last book review we were aloud to show an important part of our book, we could make a diorama, or even a newspaper! I made a newspaper of some important parts in my book. I looked at newspaper templates on Google and used my favorite. I decided on a question and answer interview with the play director and the actor (George). I also threw some ads in there along with an editorial.

Interview with teacher, Mrs. Hernandez:

Reporter: So, why can’t he play charlotte?

Teacher: Because he is a boy and charlotte is a girl. It would not sound the same if he played her in the play.
Reporter: But it really sounds like he wants to play her.
Teacher: I do not care I will not let this happen.
Reporter: Thank you for your time.

The book George takes place in a small school. In the school they are having a play. In the play they have a character named Charlotte who is a girl but George wants to play Charlotte but he is a boy! Then George’s friend Kelly steps up and changes everything.

I really think that this is unfair. I am on George’s side because I also stand up for the transgender community. I am on George’s side because I live by the words BE WHO YOU ARE.

The Princess, The Scoundrel, And The Farm Boy. By: Alexandra Bracken,

imgresIn a library not so far away… Alexandra Bracken’s The Princess, The Scoundrel, and The Farm boy. The novel that I am reviewing is part of a series that has three books in it, and if you love Star Wars this is definitely a good book for you to try, although I did not really enjoy it. The main characters in this book are Luke Skywalker (the farm boy) princess Leia (the princess) and Han Solo (the scoundrel). The rebels consist of these three characters and more rebel soldiers. The rebels are trying to change the fact that the evil rule the galaxy. This book takes place in a galaxy far, far, away in the future.

Han Solo’s actions are effective but yet very subtle, he steps in at the last minute and helps the rebels get the victory. He is also very kind and aids the rebels supplies. The most important part in the story is when Han Solo joins the rebel’s cause and decides to fight alongside them. Another important part in the story is when Princess Leia becomes the commander of the rebellion. The ending is important, the main character makes a big decision that was surprising and changed the path of the story, the story takes some twists you would not expect.

I did not really enjoy this book because I feel this book was not really the strong point of the series. The genre of book is fiction and mystery. If you like cliff hangers I am sure you will enjoy . I rate this book three stars out of five because this book was out of comfort zone, and at some points in the story I did not really know what the author was talking about at most points where it was most important.

I did not really enjoy this book because I feel this book was not really the strong point of the series but  I definitely recommend So You Want To Be A Jedi? by Adam Gidwitz. The genre of this book is fiction. If you like mystery this is a good book for you. I rate this book three stars out of five.

Who Could That Be At This Hour, By: Daniel Handler

Daniel Handler is the name of the author of the book I read. The main characters that appear in this book are Lemony Snicket and S. Theodora Markson. The problem in this book is that a treacherous villain by the name of Hangfire is terrorizing a community named Stained By The Sea. The main problem that the characters are trying to stop is that Hangfire is a skilled arsonist and they are trying to stop him from burning down the community around them.

Some ideas that helped me understand the book better were …

that S. Theodora Markson is the lead investigator for the problem in Stained by the Sea. This idea helped me understand the book better by giving me more background information. Two is that Lemony Snicket is the apprentice to S. Theodora Markson. This information was very helpful because Lemony Snicket ?  is a very mysterious person. Did you know that Lemony Snicket is a very caring person for people he knows and does not know. The only BIG decision that the main character makes is to investigate the case that Theodora is involved in. Hangfire is a arsonist, killer, and kidnapper and he is very proud of what he does.

Hangfire is a lethal killing machine that has haunted Stained By The Sea for many years. 

I really enjoyed this book because Lemony Snicket is a very creative and caring person. I also like this book because of the characters. The last reason I like this book is because it is for all ages. 1 to 5 stars it is a 5 star rated book.

Shouldn’t You Be In School?

bdak-square-1536The author of this book is Daniel Handler. The main character is a boy named Lemony Snicket. The main problem is that a villain named Hang fire is causing a lot of problems such as kidnapping, causing fires, and countless deaths. This all takes place in a town named Stained by the sea which was once a beautiful place when the sea was there now the Sea is gone, drained away.

The plot of the book is amazing it is very mysterious because there are unsolved mysteries, joyful because you can really enjoy this book, and entertaining because you can feel like you are right there with them. The main plot is Hang fire’s treachery he has committed countless amounts of crimes and countless amounts of death and fatalities.

The main character makes two very big decisions number one is deciding to stay in Stained by the sea and investigate the number of crimes committed by Hang fire. Number two is being the lead investigator for the sea project. “I elect to keep the sea or it will affect wildlife in a way that cannot be fixed”.

I really enjoyed this book and i hope others do too. The reason I love this book so much is because the book is filled with mystery, adventure, and big decisions. I recommend this book to 3rd grade and above because at some points the book uses big words that 2nd and below might not understand.
