From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg

511Y1shNp+L._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_ This summer I read From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg. The story takes place in a laundromat, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a school, a fountain, and Mrs, Frankweiler’s house. I think the story takes place in the present. The main characters in the book are Claudia and Jamie, who are brother and sister, Mrs. Frankweiler and her lawyer, Saxonberg. The main problem is that Claudia and Jamie are trying to find out if a sculpture of an angel in the Met was made by Michelangelo.

The story is about Claudia and Jamie running away from home and staying at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. An event that changed the direction of the story was when Claudia and Jamie saw Angel for the first time. Claudia wanted to learn more about Angel and Michelangelo so when she learned that Mrs. Frankweiler sold the statue to the museum for $250 she decided to find her. Claudia made a big decision by running away. At the end they resolved the problem of learning about Angel from Mrs. Frankweiler.

I “kind of” enjoyed my book because only a few parts were interesting, like when the kids were at Mrs. Frankweiler’s house and they had to find the sketch of Angel. I didn’t love the book because I thought it got less interesting when Claudia and Jamie started to learn about Angel. One more reason why I didn’t love my book was because it ended without you knowing what Claudia and Jamie did with the sketch of Angel. I think any type of reader would enjoy this book because it doesn’t really have a specific genre. I would rate this book three stars.

Middle School book 6 by James Patterson

My book is Middle School book 6 Save Rafe! It is by James Patterson. In the video the main character Rafe is climbing a mountain because he needs to pass a training camp to go back to his old school that he got expelled from. He needs to go back because his new school that he goes to is closing so now he needs to go back to his old school. He needs to go to the training camp because the principal won’t let him come back to the school easily because they have very strict rules and he broke almost all of them. I would rate this book 4 stars.

One Dead Spy by Nathan Hale

61qPSDxSF9L._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_My book is called One Dead Spy by Nathan Hale (The name of the spy). It is in a series called Hazardous Tales. The book is about a real spy named Nathan Hale telling his story to the Hangman, who is about to hang him, and an English soldier. The setting is the tree where the Hangman is going to hang Nathan Hale because he was spying on the English, and the time is 1776.

I would describe Nathan as loyal because even though he was sick he still wanted to spy on the English to help his country. I would describe the Hangman as funny because when Nathan was telling him his story he would always interrupt and make jokes. I would describe the English soldier as mean because whenever Nathan was talking about wars between England and America and England won he would always tease Nathan about America losing the war. One thing that I think is interesting is that there is a bonus story at the end about Crispus Attucks who was an escaped slave but got killed in a fight with English soldiers. I think this is interesting because I thought that the story would only be about Nathan Hale. Another thing I thought was interesting was when Nathan’s friend Ben escaped from the British army but he left his horse there so he went all the way back to the British army to save his horse. I think it is interesting because he could have died but he still saved the horse.

I enjoyed this book because it has a lot of wars and battles and I like to learn about that kind of stuff. I also enjoyed this book because it has very, very detailed pictures of battles and other stuff. I would recommend this book to people who like history because it has big historical events in it. I would also recommend this book to people who like action because it has a lot of wars and battles. I don’t think this book relates to any books or TV shows that I know of. I would rate this book 4 stars because it was a very good book.

El Deafo by Cece Bell

The book is mainly about Cece becoming deaf, then she starts going to school and in her mind she think of herself as a superhero named El Deafo. The settings are the school, Cece’s house, Mike Miller’s house, Laura’s house, Ginny’s house, Martha’s house, the Hospital, and the Gym.

One part of the book that I thought was interesting was when Cece cuts her eye and her friend Martha thinks it was her fault. I think it is interesting that the author’s name is Cece and the main character’s name is Cece too. Another part of the book that I thought was interesting was when you find out that Cece has a big crush on Mike Miller. One part of the book that I thought was important was when Cece becomes deaf. She gets a disease and one of the side effects of the disease is becoming deaf. I would describe Cece as imaginative. I think this because she thinks of herself as a superhero. I would also describe her as nice. I think this because she let everyone hold her new curly pencil but sadly one of the people who was holding it broke it. I would also describe her as fun. I think this because she would always bounce on Mike Miller’s trampoline with her friend Martha.

I enjoyed this book because it is a graphic novel. I like graphic novels because they have a ton of pictures. I like the pictures in this book because they are very detailed, colorful, and cartoonish. I also enjoyed this book because it isn’t one of those short graphic novels that you finish in a day, it is one that takes about a week or less. I would recommend this book to others because it is funny. I would also recommend this book to others because it isn’t too long, or too short. I do not think this book relates to any other books or TV shows that I know of. I give this book 5 stars because it was a very good book.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Bloom

imgresMy book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume.  The main characters are Peter, Fudge, and their mom and the dad.  The book is about Peter the fourth grader and his little brother Fudge who always drives Peter crazy.  The setting is New York City and some specific places are Peter’s house, the park and Peter’s dad’s workplace.

The plot of the book is Peter gets a turtle at a party and he names the turtle Dribble.  Peter is very protective of him but Fudge always messes around with Dribble and Peter gets mad at Fudge. I would describe Peter as protective of Dribble because whenever Fudge touches Dribble Peter gets mad.  One time Peter spanked Fudge because Fudge did something very bad to Dribble. I think it is funny when Peter gets so mad at Fudge just because Fudge touches Dribble. I would describe Fudge as immature because he went on top of a climber and jumped off the climber because he thought he could fly.  I would describe Peter’s dad as nice because he got Peter a special surprise at the end of the book to make him feel better.

I sort of liked the book because it was sort of funny and interesting.  One sort of funny thing is when Fudge pretends to be a dog.  One part that is sort of interesting is when Fudge goes on TV.  I would recommend this book to others because it is very silly.  The plot has a lot of random events but it is funny.  I give this book three stars.

doctor proctor's fart powderMy book is Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder book 1 by Jo Nesbo. The three main characters are Nilly, Doctor Proctor, and Lisa. The book is about Lisa living in her neighborhood with no friends because her best friend Anna just moved very far away. A boy named Nilly moves into Anna’s old house and Nilly and Lisa become friends. Then they meet Doctor Proctor, who shows them all of the crazy inventions he made. Then he shows them Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder and Nilly and Lisa want to try it so he lets them do some tests and then they sell it. The settings in the book are Cannon Avenue, The School, The Dungeon Of The Dead, The Sewer, and The Professors Cellar.

One part of the book that I thought  was interesting was when Nilly gives Truls and Trym some Fartronaut powder and they go flying up to the top of the big oak tree. An important part of the book is when Truls and Trym steal the fart powder. Another part of the book that I thought was interesting was when Nilly and Doctor Proctor get arrested. An interesting part of the book is when Nilly goes into the sewer and he gets eaten. I think Doctor Proctor is very smart because he made fart powder. I think Lisa is really afraid of Truls and Trym because when she walks to school she tries very hard to avoid them. I think Nilly is very short because in the book it said Nilly could almost reach the top of the 3 ½ foot fence.

I really enjoyed this book because it is about farts and it has very interesting characters.I would recommend this book to others because it is funny and it has an interesting plot. I think this book kind of relates to Spongebob because it is very random and silly. I give this book 4 stars because it wasn’t the best book I have ever read, but it was a very good book.
