Harry’s perspective

Once far away from the Muggle world in front of the Hogwarts Express Harry was checking to see if he had everything he needed, when he heard Ron yell “Harry wait up, Hermione is still packing her books” “You know her.” When Hermione finally joined them they boarded the Hogwarts express and found a compartment to sit in. “Ron!” said Hermione Just as they got into their compartment “You almost forgot your arithmancy book.” “Hermione” said Ron “It’s not like I’ll be using it ever again.” “He does have a point.” said Harry. “Well What if you forget a spell What will you do to remember it.” “Oh I won’t forget any arithmancy spells besides when will I ever need one.” said Ron “You never know.” said Hermione. The rest of the ride felt too short. When the Hogwarts Express stopped in station 9 3 Quarters Harry said goodbye to Ron and Hermione and got ready to walk home (the Dursleys had told him that they didn’t want to “waste” gas). It was a hot June afternoon it

was drizzling a little. As he walked out of the station he tripped over someone’s foot.

Diego’s Book Review 3

The House Of Hades is a deadly place where everything tries to kill you. The book I am reading is The House Of Hades, by  Rick Riordan it is  the fourth book in the Hero’s Of Olympus series by Rick Riordan. There are seven main characters in this book; their names are Percy, Annabeth, Nico, Hazel, Jason, Leo, Frank, and Bob the titan. The main idea of this book is Annabeth and Percy have fallen into Tartarus (the Greek hell and a giant god), and the other characters try to rescue them by meeting them at the doors of death (the only way to get out of Tartarus) Tartarus is full of monsters and hostile things so they have to get out as fast as they can. There a lot of settings in this book, but the most important one is Tartarus. In Tartarus everything can kill you; the air is acid, the ground is made out of broken glass, the water is deadly, and monsters are everywhere.

Three adjectives to describe my favorite main character, Leo, would be annoying, funny, and smart. First, he is annoying because he is always trying to make jokes even at the worst times. Next, he is funny because he is always trying to make a joke out of everything. Last, he is smart because he can fix and build anything that is mechanical. Something I found interesting in this book was how Tartarus is both a god and the entire place of Tartarus, too, just as the god Gaia is the whole earth. Another thing I found interesting is that Cupid is so violent he almost seems evil. Another interesting thing about this book is the mist. The mist can make things that aren’t happening appear to be happening or make something look like something it’s not. It was also surprising that there is a good giant even though all the other giants are evil.

I like this book a lot. It was super funny and the way the author wrote this book made me feel like I was there watching everything happen as I read it. I would recommend this book and the rest of the series to someone that likes Greek mythology and knows quite a bit about it. One would also like the series if he or she likes the Percy Jackson series. It is very similar to the Percy Jackson series because it was meant to be like a sequel to that series. I give this book FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrith By Rick Riordan

PercyBattleLabyrinth battle-of-the-labyrinth

There fighting monsters gods demigods and hydras it’s Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan. It is the fourth book in the Percy Jackson series. The main character is Percy Jackson. The main problem in the story is that Luke (an evil demigod) is trying to navigate the labyrinth with the help of Daedalus. Percy and his friends are trying to find Daedalus before Luke. The setting is the labyrinth. Time moves faster in the labyrinth so you never know what time it is.

Stubborn, brave, strong, are all adjectives I would  use to describe Percy. He is stubborn because he doesn’t listen to anyone. He is brave because he is not afraid of anything. He is strong because he is a great at fighting monsters. Another part of the plot is every time they go on a quest for Camp Half-Blood (a camp for demigods)  they get mixed up in another person’s quest. Since they keep getting more quests the the direction of the story keeps changing. So, it takes them forever to finish their most important quest.

I enjoyed this book a lot. Because there is a lot of fighting Also the author is so descriptive about the characters feelings. I would recommend this book to someone who has read the rest of the series. The reader should be interested in Greek mythology. Another book I would connect to from this book would be the Heroes of Olympus because they were written by the same author and both are very descriptive about the feelings of the characters. I would give this book FIVE STARS

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

Diary_of_a_wimpy_kid

The title of the book I am reading is The Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. The main character in the book is Greg Heffly. There are other important characters in the book such as Greg’s older brother, Rodrick, his younger brother, Manny, his mother and father, and his best friend, Rowley. The main problem in the book is that Greg wants to be the most popular kid in his school, but he is actually one of the most unpopular kids in his school. The settings in the book include Greg’s house, his school and his best friend Rowley’s house.

The plot is that Greg is trying to be popular, but every time he gets close to being popular something goes wrong. An important event in this book is when he chooses his best friend, Rowley, over being popular. Another important event in this story is when Greg is forced to make a big decision when he has to decide whether to help his best friend who is having a hard time or lose the popularity he gains. Greg decided his best friend was more important than popularity. Greg also has a lot of problems with his family. For example, his little brother is always breaking his stuff.

I liked this book because it was about Gregory’s friendship with Rowley and because it was about things that could actually happen; also he’s about my age.  I would recommend this book because it is an easy read and a good story. I would give this book four stars because it is a great book but they aren’t very descriptive about the characters.
