The Day My Butt Went Psycho! By Andy Griffiths

This is my 7th book review!vutt

I think book is better than any book I have ever read. Everywhere on the cover it says based on a true story. It even has a paragraph about how it is based on a true story. The main character is Zach Freeman. This is the first thing he said before he started telling the story.”This is my story. It really happened. It’s all true. Not even the names have been changed. I agree to tell my story in the hope that others can learn from it, and I would like to thank Andy Griffiths for helping me to get it down on paper. Like most people I took my butt for granted for too long. If this book can save even just one person from making the same mistake, then I will be happy. Who knows? The next butt it saves might be yours. May your butt be with you always.” He has a butt that can detach itself from his body. His butt is like the king of all butts. Now you might think this is a weird thing but it is not. This thing happens a lot. Zack Freeman is ready to tell his story of a brave boy and his crazy runaway butt. The story has a crack butt-fighting unit called the B-team, a legendary Butt Hunter’s awesome daughter, and some of the ugliest, biggest and meanest butts ever to roam the face of the Earth. Zack goes on an epic journey across the Great Windy Desert, through the Brown Forest, and over the Sea of Butts before descending into the heart of an explosive buttcano to confront the biggest, ugliest, and meanest butt of them all! In the story they have disobedient butts, runaway butts, psycho butts, kamikaze butts, exploding butts, cluster butts, nuclear butts, giant unwiped butts, butt rallies, buttcachters, butt-fighters, butt hunters, butt guns and explosive buttcanos. This book has some insane animals too. Zach travels through The Great Windy Desert, The Brown Forest and The Sea of Butts.  This book has a lot of mystery, cliffhangers and plot changers in this book. I recommend this book to people that like funny books. I rate this book 5 stars.

The Bell Bandit by Jacqueline Davies

bell banditThe Bell Bandit is an fantastic book by Jacqueline Davies. Jesse and Evan are the main characters and they are brother and sister.  In the Bell Bandit they have to try and find the missing bell. The story takes place at their grandmother’s house in the countryside in 2013. Jesse and Evan also have other problems along the way as they try to find the bell. For example, their grandmother goes missing. It is very scary for them.

Jesse is very intelligent and she is very good at solving puzzles, but this puzzle stumped her. When Evan was looking for grandma, Jesse was looking for the Bell with her new friend Maxwell. Maxwell has a scene when he is freaked out and runs by evan and say “Ahhhhhhhhhh!”. Maxwell likes the television show called Maxwell Smart, so he does a joke where he always says, “I’m smart!” This get Jesse a little mad because she is the smart one and she doesn’t understand the joke until later on. She tries her very best to solve all the problems, but she doesn’t realize that she needs a little bit of help. Her brother can be very social, so that’s when Jesse needs the help. He is social and she is smart so they are better at working together as a pair.

I like this book because I feel like I can connect to it. Jesse has an older brother, like I do, and sometimes her brother doesn’t give her as much attention as she wants. I also feel the way Jesse acts connects to me. She has a funny way that she likes to solve problems and I have that way too. I would recommend this book to people who like books about stuff that can actually happen in real life, because everything in this book could happen in real life. This book makes me feel like adventures can happen that I can make myself. I would rate this book 4 stars because it was an amazing story; although some parts were quite confusing. I also suggest reading the two books before this book. I have also written a book review on both of those.

This was my 8th book review

Cabin Fever Diary of the Wimpy Kid By Jeff Kinney

UnknownAs you know, if you read my book reviews, that I like the Wimpy Kid books. So I think that this is a great book to read if you want a bit of humor in your reading. The pictures in this book are great too. This book is all about the holidays. It is about a kid named Greg and he is bored when it comes to Christmas. He is always tempted to open the presents before Christmas when they are under the tree, but now they have a new toy that watches them, well, that’s what everyone in the house thinks because it is creepy. Greg also has weird thoughts like when he felt bad for Jesus because he probably got fewer presents. He lives in a small town.      Gregs whole family gets trapped in their house because there is a blizzard, well not the whole family. The dad was at work when the blizzard hit. So he got to stay at a lovely hotel with TVs, hot tubs and amazing foods while the rest of the family had to suffer with a flood, barely any food and no heat. I would rate this book four stars because I have liked some other books in the series a little bit more than this one. If you think some of the details are not there look at the other book reviews that I have posted.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Ugly Truth By Jeff Kinney

imagesGreg is the main character. He has a older brother named Rodrick and a younger brother named Manny. Rodrick is very annoying and is mean to Greg, he will blame stuff on him and write stuff about him that is not real. Manny is also annoying and mean to Greg, but in a different way. Greg is very nice, but he plays video games a lot.

Greg used to be friends with Rowley, but they just detached from each other. He does not know what to do. He needs Rowley and Rowley needs him. He doesn’t know that yet. “It was pretty clear that he thought we were friends and that he thought we were a package deal. And I didn’t want to change his mind so I said we accept.” What that means is that he got invited to a legendary party and he didn’t want to miss it.

Greg also has some other problems with Rowley. He is super jealous of him. Rowley and Greg live in the same small town. So they see each other a lot. Rowley gets his first pimple before Greg does. Rowleys Mom says He’s becoming a man.

I thought this book was amazing. I have read the series, and you can read them in any order just the order they have put it in is the best. I connect with it in so many ways. I thought it was really funny too. What I mean by that is some times some embarrassing stuff happens to him. I like funny books, so if you like funny books this is the book for you. I would give this five stars.

Judy Moody Saves The World! by Megan Mcdonald (writer) and Peter H. Reynolds (illustrator)

imgresThis is a great book because it is realistic and funny. Normally that does not go well together for me. Judy Moody likes to pretend she is a doctor and when she grows up she wants to be a doctor too so she has dolls to practice on and her brother to practice on too. Her brother is named stink and he is really annoying. Judy Moody lives in a small town.

She finds these crazy strips(crazy strips are band aids) that are have a contest and who ever wins it gets to put their idea on it. Everyone submits a design and who ever has the best design gets it to be the crazy strip of the month. You get a prize too. The prize is that you get a bunch of crazy strips and sunglasses.

Judy Moody has a project at school where everyone try to save the world. They all collect bottles and stuff that is from the rain forest. Did you know your pencil is from the rain forest. A lot of stuff is from the rain forest.

I loved this book. I would give it a four stars because it was really fun and interesting because I learned a lot of stuff that she learned. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes realistic, but funny books.

Vordak The Incomprehensible by Scott Seegert (author) and John Martin (illustrator).

vordak                Vordak The Incomprehensible is a great book. I love it because it is silly and goofy. Vordak is an evil villain. He is very smart and funny. He sometimes talks to himself. It is funny when he does it.  Vordak has an evil lair filled with creepy stuff. The book is him talking to you about what happened to him. He makes a bunch of inventions that work. He made an age reduction ray that makes things young again. He tried it on him, it worked, but it broke and he made him too young so now he has to go to school. My favorite part in the book was when Vordak went to school on the school bus to get to school. He has an enemy named Commander Virtue and he has a kid that goes to school at Farding High which is where Vordak has to go to school. There is some trouble at school though so Vordak does not like it. I like the books that are totally unrealistic like this one I recommend this book to people who like the books that are totally unrealistic and to people who like funny books too. I finished the book in less time than I thought I would read it.  I give this book five stars! Whoever reads it or has read it you are awesome!

The Lemonade Crime by Jacqueline Davies

A book review by Meadow Magee.

This book is great! I relate to it because I have a brother just like Jessie does. I got to learn a lot about how court works because the setting is just like a real court but in the playground, outside of school using recess equipment. Every start of a chapter has a definition of the title which is all about court. For example, “Trial by Jury: a legal proceeding in which the guilt or innocence of a person accused of a crime is decided by a group of his or her peers, rather than by a judge or panel of judges.” This book picks up after the first book which is The Lemonade War. There is one more book after The Lemonade Crime called The Bell Bandit that I have not read yet!

Jessie and Evan are the main characters of this story. They are siblings, Jessie is 8 and Evan is 10. I am 9 and my brother, River is 11 which is why I feel so connected. Jessie is very smart but she has some trouble connecting to other kids. Evan, on the other hand, is very good at connecting to kids but has a little trouble with his math. Jessie is now in Evan’s class because she skipped a grade on account of how clever she is. They live in Manhattan with their mom because their mom and dad are divorced and their dad lives somewhere else.

In the first book there was a war to collect $100 by the end of summer break by selling lemonade. At the end of the first book money was stolen and this second book is all about finding out who really stole the money and Jessie makes a court scene about this and makes it very official. Scott is also a main character and he is the one accused of the stealing the money. Megan is a main character too as she is Jessie’s best friend. It’s Jessie’s first best friend ever so it means a lot to her. (Just like Oni means a lot to me) Megan helps out Jessie with the lemonade stand. Megan doesn’t know there is a war going on. Megan is involved in the court proceedings as a member of the audience. The crime occurred at Jack’s house with a couple of friends including Evan and Scott.

I don’t want to give you all the details as it will give away a lot of the book. You just have to read the book yourself! It’s a great book and I would rate this book five stars. This book is ideal for 8-11 year old boys and girls because the court stuff makes it a little hard to understand for anyone younger. I think that you should read The Lemonade War first because you won’t understand this otherwise. I would also give The Lemonade War five stars. I hope you enjoy the “Lemonade” series!

YOU CAN’T TAKE MY PLANET, BUT TAKE MY BROTHER PLEASE, By James Mihaley

My 1st book review :

I loved the book YOU CAN’T TAKE MY PLANET, BUT TAKE MY BROTHER PLEASE by James Mihaley because I connected to it because I have a brother too. It will make you think a lot about nature. There is a boy named Giles and he gets a letter that changed everything. he meets aliens and some of them are good, but some of them are evil. He has an older brother and a younger sister. He lives in Manhattan and he loves Central Park. He loves animals so much. I think anyone would like this book because it is very funny. It is a little hard to understand at the beginning, but it comes together at the end. It is very touching throughout the story because Giles will do anything for his family. I rate this book five stars!!
