I think that behind the bookcase is a really good book. It is full of mystery and secret. And the main character [Sarah] doesn’t want to stay at her recently dead Grandmother’s house to clean it up for selling. Just as she thinks that her summer is the worst weeks of her life ,she finds a unfinished letter from her grandmother that says strange things are happening behind the bookcase… She finds a new world and that is is where the adventure begins. I would rate this a five star book. And recommend this book to 4th to 5th graders -Ruby Wexler
Ruby, you have provided important plot details without dropping any spoilers. I am really interested in reading this book! It sounds like a page-turner!
You rate this book five out of five stars. What about this book worked for you? Did you feel invested in the characters? Does Steensland write with rich description? Tell me more! Remember, book reviews should be more heavily weighted with your opinion.
I agree. There were no spoilers with a plot. That is some times hard to do.
I agree with Megan and Marlo H. because especially with mysteries it is hard to not give spoilers when writing a book review of it.
Just like Megan, Marlo and emma it is hard not to give spoilers but you did a very good job.
Ruby, Is it like The Lion, The Witch and Wardrobe in terms of going into another world through a piece of furniture? What is the new world like? Does she ever come back home again to her world? (Well I know you were avoiding spoilers… but that is what I’m wondering anyway). Tell me a little more about Sarah and what she’s like as a character. Does her character go through changes because of her adventure?
