Mathematical Similarity Summary
To see if two figures are similar, the first ting you look for is to see if they have the same general shape. Figures are mathematically similar if all corresponding angles are congruent. The two images that you are trying to see are similar must also be related by a scale factor. These are two ways that you can see if an image is similar to another one. Another way you can check is by using ratios. You can use true proportions to see if two images are similar.
Any two rectangles are similar
False. Although all corresponding angles are congruent, the sides are different lengths. Not all rectangles can be related by a scale factor, which means they are not similar.
Any two equilateral triangles are similar
True. All corresponding angles are congruent. When the angles are congruent, they are automatically similar.
Good notes and Bad notes
Below is a picture of my good notes. I think these notes are good because thy are correct, neat, and has that line on the side to help edit. I think this is one of my best notes. My goals is for all my notes to be like this. I think the side like really helps me stay neat and organised. I am going to add that for all of my notes.
Above is a picture of some of my bad notes. I think these are bad because they are messy, don’t hold a lot of information, and don’t have the side line thing. I think if I had my side line thing my work would be neater. I also think I need to add more to my notes, there isn’t a lot of information.
Math check In #2
The assignment for the first page was to look at the images, and say which ones are similar and which ones aren’t and why. The way you can tell if an image is similar or not is by seeing if there is a s.f. So that’s what I did, I looked for the s.f and saw which ones had a s.f and which didn’t and that determined if they were similar or not. The assignment for the second page was to look at the images and make a similar and not similar triangle/ rectangle. I did that by making it have a scale factor or not. If it did have a s.f it was similar and if it didn’t it wasn’t. Another way to make sure they are similar or not is by making sure the corresponding side lengths or angles are congruent. Then I made sure my answers fit the requirements!
My Math Profile
Math has always been a challenge for me. Math is something I have been working on. Something that I’m working on in math is participation. I feel like I’m often scared to raise my hand because I’m nervous I will be wrong. I remember in first or second grade when math started to become a big challenge for me. I like learning math because math is everywhere. I know when I get older math will be extremely important. I dislike learning math because it is challenging, stressful, frustrating and complicated. I know sometimes a challenge is good for your brain but when it gets to the point where I don’t understand what’s happening it becomes unenjoyable. I feel that in the past I have not been a great math student because I gave up when it was too hard. This year I am going to try to not give up even if it is challenging. When I get stuck doing homework I usually re-read the problem over and over again. When that doesn’t help I try to solve the problem a completely different way and usually that helps me. Math is not my easiest subject but I will work on it to get better.

This is a picture from my test. This page was asking to find fractions with a box, and explaining stuff about it. I did well on this page. I think I am pretty good at fractions my main focus is multiplication.
My pop quiz
This is one of my pop quiz”s
We have been doing pop quiz”s every day until everyone gets fours. This is one of the ones I was struggling on. The pop quiz’s can be easy but they can be hard. Most of the pop quiz’s we get have fractions and whole numbers. I think I should get flashcards to help me improve division and or multiplication.
My Xtramath
This is my Xtramath score sheet. In the beginning of the year I didn’t go on Xtramath that much but now I go on Xtramath more. Some of the ones that are gray or yellow I know, so hopefully I will pass soon. When I first started I didn’t know many problem but now I know almost all of them.
My Math Progress
The top is before and the bottom is after. The before doesn’t have circled answered, and no date and title. The after has date, title and circled answers. I have been working on 1 digit per box. I don’t think a lot has improved its just circling my answers. Those are the two things I need to work on 1 digit per box and circling my answer. I have been circling all my answers lately but I need to work on one digit per box still.

This is my unfinished venn diagram. I really liked this project and I wish we had more time to work on it so I could complete it but I like it anyway. I am supper proud of this piece!
