Imagine the Future

feel2

When you were in lower school, what was something that you were excited about for fifth grade? How do you feel about it now that you’ve done it?

I was excited to have a lot more independence. I feel very accomplished now that I’ve done it.

What was something about fifth grade that you were a little nervous or worried about? How do you feel about it now?

I was nervous about having tons of homework and now I don’t feel really worried because I am not overloaded on homework. I feel really relieved because I’m not overloaded on homework.

What is something about which you are still a little nervous or worried? What might you do to feel a little less nervous or worried?
What is something that you haven’t done yet in middle school about which you are excited? What are you excited about it?

I am excited for the time that we get to do the activities that students get to choose like last year, I know that a group went surfing. I’m just excited about going to fun places.

Population of the World Graph

unnamed-1

I Chose to make my graph this shape because I think that Anna was trying to trick us because I think that was the time that the  black death was going around and that killed around 125 million people so that’s why I did what I did.

I was surprised that the population was so low but I didn’t have to alter my graph for it because I didn’t have a graph (that’s because I wasn’t at school the day before not I didn’t do the work). So that information helped me change what I thought originally to my graph now.

Atoms

Screen Shot 2014-10-09 at 9.04.08 AM I made my atom  look like this because I didn’t think an atom was just a square or a circle I thought it was all different shapes and sizes. I also thought that atoms are different colors because we’re made up of atoms and different people are different colors. If atoms were all the same color we would only have one color in the world. A challenge I went through was I didn’t know what shape to use so that’s when I decided that I thought that an atom was all different shapes and sizes. Some easy things were that I could change the shapes and sizes and I had freedom of what I could choose as shapes.

Math Graphs

I noticed that the graph with no lines connecting the dots doesn’t fit in any category. I know that for 2 reasons, one, I know who made it and they said it went with C but that’s false because the first dot is not at 10 meters. The one that’s in purple marker in B doesn’t fit anywhere and all of the ones in C that don’t start at 10 meters don’t go anywhere.

I think that all of the graphs should have lines connecting the dots because the time doesn’t stop in between seconds time is still going so the dots having lines connecting makes sense. So now you can see what’s happening in between.

Social Studies

1. Describe the activity we did in Social Studies on Friday. (It’s the activity pictured.) Use the word “chronological”.

On Friday we were assigned a number of events in the history of the world. We had to organize them in chronological order.  From the big bang until humans were living everywhere in the world for the first time in the history of the world

2. Describe any confusions your group had while first putting the events in chronological order.it

It was confusing when we got to a part that the group din’t agree on because we would have to waste a lot of time convincing my group mates what the right idea was.

3. Describe what you learned by putting these events in order.

I learned that I didn’t know everything that I thought I knew. For instance, I thought that humans could speak before they could control fire but I learned that I was wrong.

Here’s the picture:
