Here is my cinquain. We learned about them and immediately, I wanted to write one. They are so broad, so many ways that I could choose to go. There are many types of cinquains. The format that I chose to use was by the type of word used. A Cinquain is a five line poem that follows a rough structure. There are many different structures though. Here is the one that I used:
The Cinquain Format That I used
Line 1: 1 noun
Line 2: 2 adjectives
Line 3: 3 -ing words
Line 4: 1 phrase
Line 5: Another word for the noun
This is not a Haiku though. Remember that a Haiku is 5 syllables in the 1st line, 7 in the next and 5 again in the last. A Haiku also most of the time will contain a kigo, which portrays a specific season.
It took some time to put thought into this cinquain. It might not seem like it because there are few words in the poem. I wrote this poem line by line. It was hard getting the right word because it had to be descriptive and a specific type of word.
