While working on the art portion of my senior project I realized that I had hit a wall in my work. I had run out of ideas for Love’s Labors Lost. So what I did was do some online research, I read books about clothing from the Elizabethan, Regency, and Edwardian periods. I learned about the structure of women’s clothing from that time. This was exactly what I needed to re-interest myself in my project. Doing research on the historical aspect of costume design reminded me why I had decided to design costumes for Shakespeare plays. I also watched the movie Ben Hur and that inspired me to read Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra (one of my favorites) and design costumes from Ancient eras.
