Ian Reyes Reverse Engineering Week 6 post 2

I recently decided to take apart a broken Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini in order to vary my phone knowledge. I started by prying off the back of it which was fairly simple since there was a small slit at the top that allowed me to easily pry off the back. From there I was able to take off the SIM card, micro SD card, and lastly the battery (which was also simple to remove since I just lifted it off through a slit). After that, all I needed to do was unscrew 10 screws around the edge of the phone, and then lift off the plastic shell covering the motherboard. From there, all I had to do was disconnect the two ribbon cables at the bottom of the phone, lift up the motherboard, and then disconnect a final ribbon cable attaching the motherboard to the phone. Finally, the phone was practically disassembled. I just needed to take off a black box on the motherboard that seemed to be used for the speaker, which I did. Everything else on the phone itself did not seem removable. Overall, taking this phone apart was fairly simple, which I expected after seeing how unnecessarily complex the iPhone was. That would also make it fairly easy to replace parts if needed.
