CR4

EQ: What steps can I take to perfect my craft, so that I can become a better player and pursue my passion of playing basketball at the professional level? Or rather how can I perfect my craft?

The first outside source I found was a blog post/article about the benefits of knowing/assessing your own strengths and weaknesses. This blog post of course mentioned how knowing your strengths would help you to better delegate tasks and tackle your weaknesses head on. The second source I read for Monday was an article about limits and just what they were. This article made a point to emphasize that limits are just boundaries, or minimums and maximums. There are also two types of limits: physical limits and willpower limits.

The ideas presented in these two articles resonate with my own because they are more informative as well as they don’t tell you what you can or can’t do. Although they are suggestive that one should never “overdo it” they both lay out a foundation for good ways to start. For example, the second article in particular gave general directions for maximums and minimums. It gave an ideal list of the things a person should be doing every so often to make sure that they achieve their goals. The list encompassed things from taking care of oneself to devoting oneself to their passion or goal. It also made a list with maximums and it made sure to emphasize that those are standard layouts. Of course the ways in which any person should spend their time doing certain things varies. The first source also touched on this but more in a general way, like with career goals. It mentioned spending time on things that a person knows they excel at and saving time by efficiently working on weaknesses.

These sources helped a little in answering a sub question of my essential question which is “What are my own limits?” After reading these two articles I’ve come to understand that limits are things that expand as well as change as time goes on due to the work you put in. Limits are also found by experimenting/assessing what you are capable of.
