Jacob: Off Balance and Moving Shots

On Monday I worked on making off balance and moving shots. From watching old videos of myself playing, I realize that I often find myself in awkward situations when I’m about to take a jump shot. I saw that I was in midair and falling towards a certain direction. However, rather than seeing this as an issue I also noticed that the ways in which I was positioned in the air made it difficult for the defenders to guard me and I was able to get a clean shot off every time. Of course, I never practiced these movements and as a result wasn’t successful every time when it came to actually making the shot. So, I embraced this move that I have and decided to work on it. I faded backwards and sideways and just concentrated on making the shot. This video was taken after I got the feel of this technique but I feel like I’ve made significant progress.

  1. I think it’s interesting how you looked at old footage of yourself. It’d be cool if you did a video, almost like the Detail ESPN + show that critiques how your playing. Basically just voicing over you playing basketball.
