Peggy Kern is the author of an amazing book called Little Peach. My group and I were lucky enough to read the book and then later on have an interview with Peggy. Before the interview my group and I read her book. It was absolutely amazing. The book is about a girl named Michelle who moves to New York and gets caught up with a man named Devon. With no family and no home, Devon, seems like Michelle’s best option. But with her first night with Devon something happens that makes her regret everything. The novel was intriguing and beautifully written. After we read the book my group and I met with Peggy for a brief interview. We were able to interview her about the book and sexual trafficking. She gave us a lot of new information about sexual trafficking in New York. We discovered that the locations that Peggy used in her book were all actual locations. We were astounded when Peggy presented us with photos of victims who had been marked by their pimps. To hear about these girls opening up to Peggy and telling her their stories was amazing. They put so much trust into her even though they just met her. Their voices were longing to be heard. With the help of Peggy they were. It was a great experience. She was lovely and a pleasure to meet. Before meeting Peggy we also had the great honor to briefly meet Patricia McCormick. After meeting with Peggy we are hoping to connect with Gems. We would like to work with some victims first hand. One can help by raising awareness and reading Peggy’s book. We should all be educated on this topic.
