What I did:

We addressed postcards to people in Florida. We urged people to vote for amendment 4.

What I learned:

The postcards were to pass amendment 4, which wants to re enfranchise felons. We need 60% of the vote for it to pass. There is a large number of felons in Florida so we sent the postcard to various neighborhoods. Different counties have different time periods to vote in order to limit voting.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

Through the fieldwork I learned that making things personal and unique can inspire people to vote or join your cause. I assumed that you could simply have a machine send these out but its actual people devoting their time towards educating others about the campaign.
