Name: Konrad Morgan Lehmann
Social Justice Group: Veterans/Life After War
Date of Fieldwork: December 7, 2017
Name of Organization: H4HUS
Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles: Key Burns
Type of Fieldwork: Interview
What I did:
We had arranged to call Key Burns to ask her a bunch of questions that we had set out asking about what her organization does and what their goal is.
What I learned:
We learned about how horses and dogs can help veterans with their PTSD and maybe even save them is some life-threatening situations, like getting help during a fit or heart attack.
What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:
I realised from this work how help can come in many different forms. In this case, Key Burns explained to us how people can not always be around or have the time to help, but one still needs something to comfort themselves and be present. Of course, Key explained how pets like dogs can d this or farm animals like horses and mules.
