Welcome Conferences
Dear Parents,
As you’ve read by now in your August mailing from the school, all Lower School classrooms will offer welcome conferences this fall. Below you’ll find links to the online sign-up that you should use as soon as possible to schedule your welcome conference.
Welcome Conferences
This fall, all Lower School families will have welcome conferences with their child’s teacher early in the school year. These appointments are a time for parents to convey important information about their child directly to the teachers. While your child’s previous teacher has already passed along information in June, the direct communication and relationship between parents and teachers is also very important to us. Welcome conferences will be 15 minute appointments, and parents should choose a time online via one of the links below. Please choose an appointment time from the available choices only. Teachers cannot accommodate welcome conferences outside of these times.
Early Childhood appointments will range from September 7th to 14th in the afternoons. First through Fourth Grades will have their meetings on September 17th. Please note September 17th is a normal school day for all lower school students and all are expected to attend, though they will have a special schedule.
Parents should bring any thoughts they’d like to share about their child to the welcome conferences, keeping in mind the brief time allotted, and knowing that many questions about the classroom and curriculum will be answered by teachers’ presentations on Curriculum Night. Parents can expect teachers to ask about such things as academic goals, friendship or social development concerns, personality, milestones, family changes and so on.
Childcare
There will be drop-in childcare available during the early childhood conferences (Fours, Fours-K, and K). Childcare will be in Luise’s Kindergarten room on September 7th, 8th, and 10th and Elizabeth’s Kindergarten room on September 13th. Both Luise’s and Elizabeth’s rooms are on the second floor. Grades 1 through 4 do not require childcare as September 17 is a regular school day for students.
