Art Eye Project By Sierra McDonald

This is an in progress drawing of my eye. In art we are working a lot on value and I tried really hard to blend it so it looks like a real eye. I used six pencils 6B, 4B, 2B, B, HB, and 2H, I also used a blender. A blender is used to blend the lines together making them look smooth. Another thing we have been working on in the eye is shading, we used the pencils and shaded around and in the eye to make it look more realistic. Working on this eye has been really fun and I think it looks pretty good so far. I’m really excited to continue and do eye lashes!

Draw something important to you By Sierra

For this project I decided to draw Myself holding a pencil because both writing and drawing are two things that are important to me. I chose this drawing because I worked really hard at making it look realistic, and I think it turned out really well!

Artist Statment

sierra-gridsI would like to name this piece of art Grid self portrait because to draw these I used a grid. I created this work of art by following the grid and copying as best I could. One thing I learned by doing this project was how to use a grid. I also learned how to draw eyes better. My favorite part of this project was adding the different colors and trying to position the face correctly.  If I could change something about it I would try and be more careful with the pastels. While making this I was surprised how consistent I was. Something else I would like to share is I had a really good time playing with the different techniques

Perspective Drawing By Sierra

So far working on this drawing has been really fun for me because it has been encouraging me to draw differently. but some of these parts have been challenging to me because I am not used to drawing like this, but I know I am learning.  And that is why I am really, really excited to keep going with this project!

Ushabti By Sierra

This is my ushabti that I made for the Egyptian tomb. Ushabtis were made to serve the person that was buried in the after life. I worked really hard on it and I am very proud of it.
