Summer Reading: Counting by 7s By Sierra

Counting by 7s is a book about an adopted girl named Willow. Through this book Willow calls herself an outcast or someone who is different. She says this because she has a different way of looking at things. After her parents sadly pass away she decides the world is a a terrible place she does not want to be. So she agrees to shut out the world. And so the rest of the book is about people trying to understand her and see the world her way. This leads to her starting to open up to the world again.

Dell Duke started out as a counselor but as time went on he ended up as more of a care giver. Dell Duke was a kind person, but he worked hard not to show it. Instead, he showed himself as someone who did not care about other things than himself. He was lazy.

In this book Mai was known as someone who cared for other people, was friendly and always there for other people. Even though Willow was younger than Mai, when Willow needed her most she was there. She gave up her time she would spend with her friends and helped Willow get more and more comfortable living without her parents. Mai is a true friend.
