Look 3: A Woman in Birch

While this look is not necessarily one of the best things i’ve ever completed, I am very happy with the final result. The skirt is from an 18×24 inch floral piece of fabric that came in a bundle. I have had a couple previous attempts with skirts but I decided to cut an oval out of the whole square and get the largest possible skirt I could, form the fabric I was working with. I’m very happy with the dynamic shape and natural draping of the garment. The bodice was created from the bark of a birch tree near my house. I had previously made a sleeveless shirt in a fabric I didn’t love so I thought that would be perfect as a base. From there I just fabric glued each piece of the bark to form a bodice shape.
