Peter Mamaev senior project update 5/4

It has been hell rewriting those pages. I have in fact ultimately redone them six times over, and now they are finally, miraculously, in a place where they hit enough of the beats while maintaining a degree of visual appeal, while fitting within the compact 4-page limit. I like the way it looks, and though I still have a lot more time than I thought these pages certainly took up a disproportionate amount of effort. While I’m still off-script, the remaining few pages are much more text-oriented, and exposition dumps are surprisingly compact. The only true challenge I can see on the horizon is perhaps page 21, when I will need to wrap up all of the dialogue while setting up a cliffhanger for the next issue (let’s just say page 22 is already preemptively occupy by a certain display).

Emily Pearson has replied. Like Jed, she was punctual and detailed, and I still feel bad for not thanking her. Of my interviewees so far her style and substance are certainly the farthest removed from what I’m going for, but she nonetheless gave some important advice, such as the surprising power the cesspool that is Twitter has in networking, particularly in comics and similar entertainment media. I should write to her and Harry. Like, right now.
