CR #3

My guitar chord finally arrived so I began recording the guitar portion. I feel that the guitar will really start to pull the whole song together. I think in the back of my mind, I knew that or desperately hoped for it. Unfortunately, since we’re in quarantine and the easiest access to a guitarist is my brother, the guitar portion is going slowly. He’s an incredible musician but has the patience of lint and can’t sit still for very long. I didn’t think about how much harder it would be working with a family member but I’m lucky to have a wonderful musician in the family.

The technical piece is coming together as well. Slowly, of course, but non the less, it’s coming together. I have to spend hours looking through all the synths and focusing on making all the pieces click. It’s a very complicated system and I have a friend who has a brother who works with logic often and has offered to help me get used to it. I have had such a lack of motivation that I haven’t officially taken her up on that offer but now I think I might.

We are already half way through the senior project and that is completely baffling to me. I don’t even see how it’s possible. My song is coming along, but as I’ve said, it’s coming along quite slowly. I don’t have the best setting to work in but much better than I could’ve hoped for in a situation like this. I’ve just gotta stay positive and make the most of it. I wish I had a teacher around though in person that I could have instructing me and helping when I need it.  I’ve had to work this out all on my own which feels accomplishing but is making the process much slower than it needs to be. I’ll probably learn a lot from this experience. I’ve just gotta keep pushing myself and continue moving forward.
