This is the Instagram post for my second Pocelina look – Picnic or Porcelina. This look has four parts to it: I began to make a dress with a couch sample. When I cut out the shape I saw it looked better as a caftan. So I used my grandmas pinking shears to cut the hem. Then, I used fallen leaves right outside my house and bent them to make pants to be under the caftan. Next, I used each half of a ring box into a shoe by glueing the leftovers of the caftan fabric. Finally, I used the stems of the same leaves that I made the pants out of. I glued them onto an oval-shaped piece of fabric and put two bottle caps in the middle to create the hat shape. The hat was by far the most time consuming part and took me 6 hours to complete. The photo shoot is one one level inspired by valley of the dolls. Though it is more so inspired by the woman that only brings pills to a picknic, and I hope I captured the fashion of that woman.
