Open in new tab Above our my continued notes on research. I have continued to read about documentary theater specifically as well as think about story structure in general. This week I began and online class called Story Telling for Social Change from Michigans theater department. While this class is not related to documentary work at all it is helpful for understanding the important forms of stories. This along with Watch Me Work by Susan Lori Parks have begun helping me build various tools for writing theater especially as this is something completely new to me.
In addition to the research which is currently taking up most of my time my biggest challenge is transcribing videos from Harlan. It takes me hours to get through just a few minutes of video and requires a ton of focus. So far I have reached mid-morning on Tuesday so I have a very very long way to go before I can start storyboarding which I am a bit worried about.
Have you started any kind of post it note storyboard yet? I realize we haven’t spoken about this in cohort at all.
