Ari Elgharsi Week 1 , Post 1

For the first steps in creating my documentary, I began as always with a script. I initially spent two hours getting out all my ideas on paper after being inspired. I wrote a few pages and then revised my writing. I took a break and returned to it so I could view my writing from a different perspective. I spent up to four hours compiling footage I might need and then adding and cleaning up that footage in the Final Cut Pro X software. I then went out to shoot over the course of two days, an hour and a half each day of filming. As soon as I get home from shooting I upload the footage directly into the software to organize the clips where they need to be. I recorded one voice over of my script on top of the footage I already had to help me visualize the documentary better. I spent an additional hour looking for music that I could lay over the commentary and footage. I have also been watching youtube videos on documentary film making, specifically the gear and technicalities of it.
